Restrictions with FS ATC

Recommended Posts

Guest almogo

I've seen people talk here about restrictions that might be given by the ATC i.e cross xxx at 12000. Is this just "real world talk" or does it apply to the sim as well ? Because fs ATC never gives me restrictions. It could be that people were talking about flying vatsim or another ATC program though, but just to clear thing up for me....Thanks aheadOren

>Because fs>ATC never gives me restrictions. because it doesn't have this capability. However both Radar Contact and VoxATC - which replace FS's ATC - I think do have this capability.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2

I really dislike the ATC of FS2004.Somehow I always seem to end up on final with 3 other aircraft within 3 miles. Ultimate Traffic creates to much traffic, and ATC tries to land them all at once :-zhelp Anyway, I was wondering if Radar Contact or VoxATC solves these problems. Are they really worth the $ 44 US or

I tried Vox ATC, if you do not mind strange voices that are awfully difficult to understand, NO visible AI traffic (your airports will be back to FS98 status) except for ATC traffic that you can't see, then this is OK. The speech recognition engine worked splendidly and whereas I never had to repeat my messages to ATC, I had ATC to repeat often theirs so that I can comply with their requests. This is the ultimate way to interact with ATC, but they really need to get at least to the level of speech quality of FS before I acquire the programme. I hope they will work very hard on this aspect and allow at least "some" visible AI traffic interaction in the future.

>need to get at least to the level of speech quality of FS>before I acquire the programme. Go to VoxATC forum. There is a ready solution. You can solve the problem of robotic voices by getting very high quality voices from another vendor for about $35.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2

Go to the VoxATC forum here on Avsim and read the very top post (or the one with the highest number of replies). It is a very small forum.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2
