Thanks Word Not Allowed. Surprisingly the problem fixed "itself" by divine intervention ;-). In desperation I switched on my PC to my daughter's account and was able to access PMDG's site without any problem. So I knew immediately the problem was somewhere in my account/profile. Ready to do some investigative work I switched back to my account and low and behold everything was working ok.
