747: FMC Fix's?

Featured Replies

Hello,I'm not one who likes to bother the forum with numerous questions, but I was really curious whether the PMDG 744 has support for fix's in the FMC. Much like you can see them enter on the Virgin ITVV DVD (which is amazing and has me drooling for the PMDG 744).I won't be crying if it doesn't, but I'm just curious :)Many thanks!

Not sure what you mean - the FMC is fully featured, fixes (intersections) are available along with VOR's NDB's etc in the database. You can also define your own custom waypoints in about 10 different ways. The FIX page that allows you to draw arcs and radial lines is also present as it was on the NG...

>The FIX page that allows you to>draw arcs and radial lines is also present as it was on the>NG...Thats what I was interested in. I don't have the NG (shame on me), so I couldn't find a screenshot with the arcs on.Thanks for the answer.

I have been going through the manuals to try and figure out how to draw the circles around fixes to no avail. I too saw them on the video and here I am having had the NG since it came out and I have no idea how to make the arcs and circles appear. I feel like a real dope. Maybe somone can point me in the right direction in the manual that explains how to make them appear.

Hi, On the FIX page, you input what waypoint you want to identify, keying it into the fmc and line select 1L i beleive. Once that is done, you can input the arc range and also a radial if desired, which is then displayed on the ND. You can have more than one arc for a waypoint if i remember correctly and also you can have multiple fixes identified on the ND. This can help if you want to know which waypoint is quicker to fly to, such as diverts.Hope this helps
