November 17, 200520 yr >What I meant was that I add 330kg per>1kt headwind for the 9L departure If you are going to add to the aircraft weight - you will get the wrong result as I wrote above. You have to add to the values in the table. I hope you see that adding to aircraft weight for headwind would make no sense.Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_747F.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpg Michael J.
November 17, 200520 yr Okay, I believe you. Could you explain to me what these numbers mean then at the bottom of this list. It's an excerpt from the EGLL derate list.102.7 6 427700 429200F 154 171 181 417300* 155 171 181102.3 4 427700 430400F 154 171 181 418300* 155 171 181102.0 2 427700 431500F 154 171 181 419200* 155 171 181101.6 0 427700 432600F 154 171 181 420200* 155 171 181ADD KG/KT HEADWIND 330 430SUB KG/KT TAILWIND 2740 2790
November 17, 200520 yr Hi:I did a search on the forum for these charts and it turned up no results. Can someone please direct me to these charts.v/rToddhttp://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-pilot.jpg ATP MEL Commercial SEL B-747, BE-300, BE-400, DHC8, ERJ 170/190, MU-300 C-17A Globemaster III
November 17, 200520 yr Say headwind is 10 knots.10 x 330 = 3300 kg.This is by how much you have to increase entries (every entry) in your table. So far example if before you had this row:>102.7 6 427700 429200F 154 171 181 417300* 155 171 181now, with the 10 kts wind you will have this:>102.7 6 431000 432500F 154 171 181 420600* 155 171 181This is what many airlines do - they actually give you different tables for a few winds (+10,+20,+30 kts). In this case you have to create in your mind a modified table. I showed you how. I am afraid I don't know how else to get this point across. I suggest you read it carefully and think about it. Hopefully you get it, it is really very simple.Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_747F.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpg Michael J.
November 17, 200520 yr I do understand, but this is also what I was saying a couple of posts up. I add to the weights given in the table, but I was getting confused because you said that I shouldn't.-Mikkel

November 17, 200520 yr >this is also what I was saying a couple of posts up. I admit I don't see it, but what counts is that you know how to use it.Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_747F.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpg Michael J.
November 17, 200520 yr Might be an expensive option, but the ITVV Virgin DVD shows exactly how to use those charts, minus the wind component as their wasn't one that day, but you'll get a great overall picture of how to use them.I was totally confused until I went through it with the charts Jon B provided and the DVD.Speaking of, where is Jon B? He's a great poster and his insights on the real world are very useful and very much appreciated by me :D
November 17, 200520 yr >Might be an expensive option, but the ITVV Virgin DVD shows>exactly how to use those charts, I have this DVD but I wouldn't recommend it only to learn how to use those charts. Alan R.goes over his calculation way too fast. He skips all the stuff about climb-limited takeoff and field limited takeoff. It is simply too abbreviated. It gives you the flavor but many details are left out.Yes, it would be nice to have Jon B. in this thread chime in on the subject.Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_747F.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpg Michael J.
