December 3, 200520 yr Commercial Member Carlos-It's unfortunate that you wind up with the impression that there are "issues to be resolved." If you'll allow me to give a candid (if not a bit biased) response....Paul Gollnick and I manage the tech support side of PMDG. Easily 99% of the problems reported by customers are not the fault of the software. They are the result of poor system maintenance, failure to read the manuals, or poor understanding of the complexities of the airplane itself.PMDG has never run a fully-moderated forum in order to control the information that is discussed publicly. Therefor it is easy for posters to enter into the forum and report problems or "bugs" that are actually user error, failure to read the manuals or lack of understanding of the airplane.... As a result, we often see reports from users that are not really problems.....It is also worth pointing out that only a tiny piece of PMDG's customer base participates in this forum. I'd estimate <10%...... We estimated recently that we hear from less than 2% of our customers.... I think that's a pretty strong statistic.Keep in mind too that the sim community has this bizaar affliction of having to support/bash products as if they are mutually exclusive... Something that most of us on the development side of things don't quite understand as it seems a bit churlish. A frequent topic of conversation between me and Wade from LDS....Obviously I'm pretty intimately involved in the development of PMDG products- but if you have ever done anything creative- you'll understand how hard it is to view your own work without focusing on it's flaws. With that in mind- I'm exceedingly happy with the 400. most of what I'd like to change or do differently is very very small- or nearly impossible within the confines of the sim....I think you'll enjoy the airplane tremendously... December 3, 200520 yr Thanks Robert and Vin to help me decide. I really have come to appreciate your work and I
December 3, 200520 yr Carlos,You won't regret it. The 737NG is a fantastic package and the 747 just ups the bar some more. It's really great that we have such wonderful add-on developers as PMDG and LDS to give us their creations. I know I could not imagine this hobby without them.
December 3, 200520 yr Carlos,It takes a bit of a skill to read the forum messages and decide whether the reported problems are real or imaginary. ;)Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_744F.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpg Michael J.
