February 17, 200620 yr Hi all,What are the cruise speeds for the above type??Are they always the same or??ThanksMark
February 17, 200620 yr See if under your PMDG folder you have a folder called TNG. Look for this file:02_CRUISE_PERFORMANCE_73702_06DEC03.pdfpart of the aircraft operations series.Generally after cruise environmental info is placed in the FMC, cost index (I use 100), flight level and temp at cruise level, etc., the FMC under VNAV will calculate the desired thrust to maintain the cruise speed for the most efficient operation based on your cost index. It is a pretty complex calculation. The tables in the .pdf will give you some idea of what to expect,
February 17, 200620 yr Just by way of a real world example, Southwest Airlines uses 36 for cost index in it's 737-700s. The resulting FMC computed cruise speed varies from about .74 to .785 depending on cruise altitude. Dave Paige
