My experience has been (with autoland) the the 600/700 and 800/900 touch down about the correct point (500 or 100 feet?) on the marks beyond the threshold. I am at Vref + 5 with no gusting headwind across the threshold using flaps 40.I have to check but I think if it is not done automaticly you can go into the approach page and recalc your landing Vrefs after your fuel burnoff for your current landing weight. Don't recall right now.

Sandro: You didn't mention if you were hand flying or using autoland. I get good results with -700 at all weights as long as I setup the landing config to obtain Vref during descent and before final approach. When I hand fly, I've noticed floating or even balloning if I over rotate and she is sensitive to rotation (I think all swept wings are that way). If it is windy I will fly her right onto the pavement and kill lift with spoilers as soon as the mains contact but this means speed has to be correct. Keep trying, landing a simulator can be harder that the real thing sometimes because the visual clues are limited and there's no movement to feel.

The 737 300 of other dont have this problem. I come with vref + 5 and retard with 20 to 10 feets. It just reduce rate of descent but goes down. The NG floats more. They did a good job at 747. Its a nice land.
