May 9, 200620 yr Commercial Member Gents-Reposting from another thread- in case anyone is interested:Here are my plans for the EAA event at Truckee Airport (KTRK) for 09MAY and 10MAY.On 09MAY- we will be bringing the SNJ-6 up with a planned arrival time of 12Noon. It is unclear yet if we will leave the airplane at KTRK or return it to it's home airport- that will be dictated by the cost/need for gas. (Truckee is usually a full dollar/gallon higher than some surrounding fields...)On 10MAY- we will arrive in the very early morning- but I will be involved in some activities until around 10:30. The SNJ will be available for viewing during that time- and I'll be free to converse/meet from around 10:30 until approximately noon when we will return the airplane to Nevada. If anyone wants to meet informally- by all means please come up! I've hesitated to "commit" to having much free time simply because I wasn't sure until today what role I'd be playing- and didn't want to be too busy to chat. For the most part- I'll be hanging around the SNJ answering questions and or generally trying to look busy keeping her from drooling oil on herself. (PW's don't drip oil- they mark their territory...)If you happen to be around when we land tomorrow- it'll be obvious it's us: Silvery SNJ with a yellow nose- and WWII medals painted on the cheek panel, left side. (And my big-apple-eatin'-grin in the cockpit...)If anyone can make it- drop a note in this thread- i'll check here before I head out for the briefing tomorrow morning!Robert S. May 9, 200620 yr Rob,For me it is too late to plan anything for today (Tuesday).A real possibility is that I could be there around 11 am on Wednesday. Hopefully I could see you depart.I will post again in this thread to confirm it.I hope dogs are allowed (on leash). I would show up with a large dog :-coolMichael J. Michael J.

May 9, 200620 yr >Sorry about that late notice, Michael- hope I didn't mess with>your plans. No problema Rob. The May 10th was much better day for me anyway.Barring unforseen circumstances I will be there. I will try to arrive 10-11 am.If there are many airplanes you might want to give me a hint in what part of the tarmac your SNJ is parked.See you there. May 10, 200620 yr Author Commercial Member MJ-Things were a bit "dynamic" today- but it looks like the plan is: When the B-17 is done flying for the day- the SNJ will be parked right next to it for a photo-op....Pretty easy to find- look for the EAA hall- it's to the far right if you are standing in front of the terminal facing the runways....The B-17 will be a give-away too.I verified that that dogs ARE allowed, too.... They just request that you clean up any mess. ;-) Robert S. Randazzo PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM You can find us at: http://forum.pmdg.com
May 12, 200620 yr I arrived for the final couple of hours .. had enough time to meet Rob, exchange a few words with him, watch him fire his SNJ and fly away. Then I took a quick tour of the B-17 which was the main attraction of this event. Took some photos.Michael J.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/for...argo_hauler.gifhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg Michael J.
