Hi im just wondering what normal VS is during climb and decent with passengerson 737 and 747. Often i dont get down in time for the glideslope with using 2500 as VS and following ATC.should i use even higher?

And every now and then when flying on vatsim at a cozy FL250 you hear ATC telling you: "ABC123 reduce speed to 250 knots, descend FL110 to be level at XYZ" and you realize that XYZ is only some 30 nm away. So you go into Kamikaze mode descending at 5000 f/m busting every speed restriction known to mankind, extending speedbrakes, gear and whatever you can think of. Been there, done that and will do it again! :)
