Repaint Needed....

Featured Replies

Hello to all, and the PMDG staff, very GREAT job on the 737/747.... my question is, can someone please help me and create a download version (meaning an .exe installer) for the Air Tran 737/737wl?there are some on AVsim, but for some reason when i install them, the model is transparent.....dont know if that has happened to anyone else... but i would be grateful if someone can do the two versions for me the regular 737-700 and the -700 Winglet..thanks in advance-PHoh lol to not have to make it too difficult here is a shot of the airline...http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1192924/M/ (737 Winglets)http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1190711/L/ (regular 737)

The ones on AVSIM work fine for me. We use both of them, winglets and no winglets, at The ATPExperence www.atpexperience.net where we simulate Airtran operations as a VA.

sir i understand that, but for some reason the ones on avsim doesnt work... would it be too much to make a paint with an installer?-PH

Sorry I don't know how to make the auto installers. I just installed the ones from AVSIM manually and they worked fine, no transparency where there wasn't supposed to be.

aiight mr Paige.... im not sure what im doing wrong..... maybe you can help me in the installation....thanks!

You're asking a repainter to make a new texture because you're making a mistake somewhere on the process of installing the paint? :-lol Sorry, but don't you think you're being unreasonable here?Installing paints is a breeze. Drop the texture folder into the PMDG 737 aircraft folder, then add an entry on the aircraft.cfg (most repainters include the entry on the readme. The important thing is that, once you've placed the entry, you change the number so there is a succession (for example, if the entry before the new one is (fltsim.5), the new one should read (fltsim.6).That should do it.

Mr Daniel, im am sorry if you think that my intelligence is beneath you. if you took the time to read fully sir, i did say that i tried everything how ever the paint comes up but is it transparent... its not suppose to see through the a/c and the paint... that is why i am asking for an installer paint so i know it came from PMDG all of my other a/c that i have installed be it manual or from an .exe installer work fine.its not the first time i am installing an a/c so undermining someone like that is not nice sir..... however thanks for your input and again i ask if it would be too much trouble for an .exe installer for airtran.thanks!

Hi PH (please use at least your real first name when posting in the PMDG forum).Usually, if an aircraft appears partially tranaparent, it is because it is missing a night bitmap. Verify that the texture folder that you installed the livery into contains files that end in "_L". If not, you can try copying the files with the _L suffix from other folders within the PMDG 737 directory.Best,Vin ScimonePMDGwww.precisionmanuals.comhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/devteam.jpg

I didn't say your intelligence is beneath me... I just said that, IMO, your request is unreasonable. Two different things. Then I went on to explain the procedure for installing repaints, which is the logical thing to do when you're having a problem that a few of us can't duplicate. I have been dealing with FS since FS98, and I still make dumb mistakes. I apologize for assuming you were imperfect.Sorry that it offends you that people state their opinions and offer you advice on the problem you're encountering. I'll refrain from both from this point on. I hope someone else won't mind getting bitten and will give you a hand.Daniel P.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/supporter.jpgMember of SJU Photography. Making exe installers is not a trivial matter and it's probably above the knowledge and resources of most repainters. You're very likely not going to find anyone who will do what you're asking of them. It requires real programming.
