November 29, 200718 yr Troy I found my problem to be related to spyware. It for some unknown reason blocked access to only PMDG site in addition to the usual problems. It took a month of working with Webroot Spysweeper to finally get rid of it, and now that it is gone, I can access the website. My hat is off to Spysweeper for coming through on this one.Greg Greg Clark
November 29, 200718 yr Hey Troy,Glad to see you are now able to connect...I am having the same problem...and have been doing so for a week now...I don't know how to resolve it...and I am desperate to purchase the MD11 when she is released. My son can get on no problem upstairs on his computer...So i am baffled!!Any help would be appreciated.Dave
November 30, 200718 yr Dave,After doing a lot of research there was nothing consistent found on inability to connect to only one website except for instances of malware being removed and causing the problem, or in my case I knew I had malware present because certain webpages were being redirected to the malware site. At the same time only one website was blocked, and that was the PMDG link.Once the malware which affected TCIP settings in the registry was completely removed, I had instant access to PMDG. I have no idea why the malware blocked only the pmdg site of the hundreds I might visit. Some folks found that using Winsockfix utility solved the problem of inability to access certain websites, but applying it caused antivirus programs to have to be reinstalled, so I did not want to do it myself.Greg Greg Clark
November 30, 200718 yr Hi Greg,First of all thank you for the reply...I still cannot connect...However, out of ignorance I may have Malware in there sonewhere...I have AVG Anti virus...free edition and adaware..again free edition...both when scan come up clean...Is Malware different and do i need a cleaner for it???Dave
November 30, 200718 yr Dave,I use spysweeper for cleaning up adware.spyware. It is is not free but not very inexpensive and seems for me to do a great job of blocking threats. In this case the usual defintions did not catch the spyware, and the company custom built a removal tool for me and it worked.I thought that was great service. They in turn discover new malware this way and include it in their own definitions.Greg Greg Clark
