There's planes like GE RR etc. What's the difference between them? ( I know 2 of them are cargo planes)

Hi,Hi anonymous - me again. The GE and RR refer to the General Electric or Rolls Royce engines they come equipped with.Both passenger and freighter versions may come with either.Gerry

Specifically there are EICAS differences in the cockpit - RR and PW engines show EPR for their main indication of thrust and the RR's have an N3 value since they have three compressor stages. GE's use N1 as the primary thrust indication.The FMC performance libraries and airfiles are also slightly different between the three.

GE's use N1 as the primary thrust indication.>>The FMC performance libraries and airfiles are also slightly>different between the three.>Ryan,i didnt find a differences in the fuel planning side between GE RR and PW and whatever the combinaison is including Pax or F versions ...i always found around 5 - 10 % more fuel burning than real datas whatever the version plus the FMC is giving higher opt alt than the manuals i have ... the GE is supposed to be the more economic the PW the less and RR in between ...
