Differences of opinion on this forum
those days are gone where i can send a pm to Rob and report to him what was wrong with his air files or the manual for the 744 ps1 had a page missing. those days are gone when you can drop to Jason an email about his 747sp between his studies and work at cvr. now they re busy and i do not think that forum is for that kind of discussion anymore the interweb went that far because of being anonymous that unless you met someone or chat over the phone there is no control. i do not participate that much anymore because i do not know who im talking with, plus i still didnt install fsx on a computer and fs9 still work enough for what im doing ... and 9/11 impacted too our real industry and of course simulation. enjoy all your day. Boeing 777 take-off performance tool
Hello, i dont need someone to decipher what someone else wrote. the subject was about a performance tool nothing related to PFPX so it someone it bringing that subject im was questionning him not you, thanks for the clarification you made but its not helping me about his words. all the best. Phil

Cost index....777 FMC vs PFPX
Tood, that is correct but you re never showing that on the ATC plans at least at the time I was dispatching NATs flights. you can request for sure and the aircraft with FMS was very good to save fuel sometimes but not always accepted by the guys giving out clearance especially on a busy day ... i imagine its more easier today via the plane requests as they re doing on the Australian side ... all the best. Phil

Cost index....777 FMC vs PFPX
Scandinavian 13 you nailed it. +1 people want accuracy, the best of real world but they have to understand how it works ... pilot is a job that long time before being a pro same as a dispatcher and now that those tools are available wont change those facts you need to work and read the manuals and do a lot of tries before being a virtual pro too. all the best. Phil

Cost index....777 FMC vs PFPX
helllo, any chance you post your flightplan. if it s a transatlantic flight there is a fixed mach portion so whatever CI selected the fixed mach will be used over it ... all the best. Phil

PMDG T7 FMC and PFPX Step Climb Discrepancies
i may add that is true that the datas used are not coming from PMDG FMS for sure but this is the same datas used by real ops to generate their own flightplans so yes we didnt dig into the PMDG FMS but im pretty sure there is no need to do that if you have access to some other datas. all the best. Do I need PFPX?
they re really concern about flightplanning ... guess, what in part of their training for every machine they have to be qualified there is the flightplanning part as of course for the APTL ... when I was a flightdispatcher (those old days lol) with a briefing with the technical crew (pilots and engineer) and I can tell you they were listening and asking questions maybe there is some ops and pilots that don't give a dam but I guess there is still that are interested ... at least one because the sole author of PFPX is himself a pilot under a 320 ... what PFPX is about is the quality of the profiles made and as there is more and more hardcore simmers that don't have access to FPPM or other perfs manuals it s really helping a lot ... and the user friendly way ot use and operate it. it s a tool like it or not but a very good tool I wished I had when I was dispatching for real ... all the best. Airbus Considers Cutting Its A380, Airlines Aren't Buying Huge Jumbo Jets Anymore
Bruno, quote it and came back in 20 years .... we all know how the story of the 747 was not as good at it seems before 73 the flight deck was not even sale for profit ... so we ll see and who knows what will happen in 20 about aviation and oil ...

Do I need PFPX?
CoolIP, not a problem Pierre is a friend and we're in the same team about PFPX ... there is already some requests on that and even Pierre but he doesn't have the time to everywhere as most of us too so i'm focusing for now on that profile. we'll see how it goes too and im pretty sure the results wont be that bas as I already made for FOC 2003 ... all the best.
