First KORD-ZSPD a Bust

Featured Replies

Darn... I should know better than to trust FSX scenery. After a 13 hr flight the default scenery is missing the ILS16 and the runway is in the wrong place. Bummer. It was just a really big letdown cause I've never flow further than KJFK-EGLL and the latest FSUIPC has finally tamed the horrible MSFS winds and then only to have MSFS trip me up after all that nice flying. Geeze. I'll always compare the default stuff with the navdata for now on.Anyone have a favorite ZSPD scenery?

Hi Dan,Just have the default scenery as well. Can't help you at a favorite one.Default FSX runway layout is pritty close to reality when having a look in Google Earth.ILS16 is missing indeed.Maybe - for the time being - an ILS17 is the option in order not to frustrate 13 hr time investment.Hope it helps next time.Regards,Harry

ZSPD Rnw 16 is only off about 44 ft, not too bad I admit. I was just frustrated last night. Before turning to final, I was wondering why I was only getting a frequency where there is normally an Ident on the PFD... now I know and I learned something. Next time that happens I'll change approaches before I'm committed.

Dan,I have had similar issues albeit with FS9...incorrect ILS frequencies - CYVR (or none at all) & bad RWY surfaces (HKJK Nairobi) which disagree with the 774 in a bad way.SOP for me now is to open up the AFCAD editor & check all these issues prior to flight, done once on the first trip & then forgotten, unless things change as a matter of course as navaids are updated in the RW etc.Kind RegardsSteve Bell
