Hey Tord.Yes, that would be great! So are you in SAS too, or you just know them and they let you fly the sim? That is great stuff!

Hej Tord,I just wrote an email to the 767 team at SAS Flight Academy, asking what the chances for someone like me (me being a 16 year old "aviation enthusiast" :-)) to visit the Flight Academy are.Do you have any idea what chance I might have, considering I don't know anyone in SAS?Thanks.Martin767 fetishistIt's a lot like life and that's what's appealing

I had a friend of mine who is the head of United's Flight Training Center In Denver Co and I spent a hour in a 767 full motion simulator Jun of 2001 pre-9/11 and also had a tour of the center.I had my PIC manual with me and I had no problem with any of the systems.I took off from Denver and shot 2 manual landings and loaded the fmc and did a cat 3 hands off landing, its unbelivable how well this aircraft handles.I had no idea of the feel that the simulator whould have ,the instructor pilot said it feels the same as being in the air. Thanks anyway. Are you going to post a more detailed report of the sim ride? It's always interesting to read, but even more interesting when it's in Sweden! :-)Martin767 fetishistIt's a lot like life and that's what's appealing

You got me wondering what you meant with that link, but I think you misunderstood me. The analogue speed gauge that I refered to is the one to the left of the Captains EADI (and to the right of the First Officers if I remember the instrumentation correctly), not the back-up speed gauge under the backup HSI in the center panel. That is still in place and in use. Sorry if I was unclear in my earlier post. :)

Hi,OK, I thought that you specifically meant the backup ASI in the middle. Yeah, you're right about the SAS B767s, they don't have the regular ASI at all, which is amazing ! I guess with the Pegasus EADI they think it is redundant.See the pic below, this must be the simulator you took the ride on, this one's located at SAS Flight Academy. Sure enough, no analogue ASIs there...regards,Tero
