November 8, 200223 yr Just wondering, if anyone has this setup how you like it. Can you precisely set pitch trim on the PIC767 with a CH yoke? I'm currently using a Microsoft Sidewinder and find it very frustrating to trim with the buttons on the stick. Thanks for any insight.
November 8, 200223 yr I am using Saitek Cyborg 3D USB stick and trimming is easy. I simply programmed the POV Hat switch (its up/down position) as my trim. For trimming you have to pick something which is immediately under your thumb otherwise it won't feel right.Michael J. Michael J.
November 8, 200223 yr I'm using CH yoke and PIC.I think trimming is hard when using buttons - this is an fs2k2 problem not a stick/yoke problem. However if you use an axis for trimming it will be much easier: for example, with your setup you can use the mixture handle (if you have the usb yoke version) for trimming, being very precise. And Michael: first of all, to my knowledge the trim wheels in the real plane are on the pedestal sides, thus not exactly under your thumb.Second, trim buttons in the CH yoke are positioned under the POV hat anyway...Bye for now,Ilan

November 8, 200223 yr Hi, I have the CH Yoke and the pedals to go with it. I really like it after some adjustment-time. My major problem is that the trim, which is assigned to the rocker button on the top left side of the yoke and so directly accessible for my left thumb, is a bit coarse to my liking. That means that one press on the trim will trim up or down too much. The effect is that you tend to have to use the button quite often. I am sure that it can be adjusted via the sensitivities or repeat rate. Another slight annoyance is that it is hard to adjust the return-to-center for the elevator axis. I don't know if I am unfortunate to have a bad yoke, but it feels to me like the spring inside it is a little bit sloppy with regards to returning the yoke exactly to the center position. Hope this helps :-waveLevEKCH
November 8, 200223 yr Hi, no problem here using the CH-yoke USB light with PIC, assigned two buttons on the left for elevator-trim and two on the right for rudder-trim. Works flawless all the time, maybe with a little tweaking in the FS2002.cfg repeat settings. But (as said in the posting before) I will have to look for some good stuff to let the joke stop in the centerposition. Someone in the old forum named something like silicon-spray, don

November 8, 200223 yr Hi Hans, Does that mean that you are also experiencing the problem with return-to-center? If so, I am a bit happy as my yoke is not defect. I had never thought of the solution with silicone-spray. Will give it some thought. Have you figured out how to assign the buttons to disengage the auto-throttle and autopilot? I can't seem to make it work. I have managed to get one of the buttons mapped as PTT for Roger Wilco (running on a separate computer -- thanks to Mr. Haas for that :-))Lev
November 8, 200223 yr Hi,hope the spray helps .... it should be something special for plastics.Connecting and disc. of AP and AT with buttons works with the new version of FSUIPC. Did it yesterday once more changing from one switchbutton to an other one. Get FSUIPC and RTM!!! :-)http://schiratti.com/dowson.htmlHave funHans van Leusen

November 8, 200223 yr I've got the CH Yoke, and absolutley love the vertical trim button on the left side. I have no issues with the repeating...all I have to do is hold it down and it keeps rollin' the trim wheel.
November 8, 200223 yr Hi Travis, I must have explained myself poorly. The repeat rate of the trim works just fine. If I keep the button depressed, the trim wheel keeps rolling like you said. What I meant was that the amount of deflection may be a little too much for me. What happens is that when I disengage the A/P at the TOD I often find myself racing the FD bars becase one single press on the trim butten results in too much deflection. That means a lot of trimming (and more than I expect would happen in the real world). As a side note, I leave the auto-throttle on until fully established. All the best,Lev
November 8, 200223 yr Commercial Member On my CH yoke I use one lever axis for throttles, one for trim, and one for spoilers. I like that the trim lever gives you an immediate tactile and visual indication of the trim settings. Also, I was never very happy with the control I got from the buttons. I
