September 15, 200322 yr Is that sim capable of simulating day time? I've never seen a real full motion simulator like that in day time...
September 15, 200322 yr Our sim instructor said that particular sim we were in only had a nighttime visual system. We were so stoked and excited just being in the sim and flying we didn't care! :) We flew around in Air Canada's sims back in March with some daytime visuals that were rather boring I thought. Lots of generic flat green textures. Somewhat surprising for $15 million dollar machines lol..-Paul
September 15, 200322 yr I'm not going to argue anything is awesome! Just probably would have made a better video if it was day time :D (easier to see).If you don't mind me asking, do you have/need good connections? Or if anyone had enough money could they do it?

September 15, 200322 yr I am sorry to hear that it is on the Real format. Any chance of putting it on Win or Mac formats?Terry
September 15, 200322 yr Commercial Member The newest sim visuals aren't much better than FS2004 really. Actually you can compare them pretty well. Here is one screenshot from one of the newest visual systems out there:The only difference is that the real sim doesn't stutter :-)If the visual PC can't cope, it simply crashes. But no stuttering :-)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/37172.jpgRegards,Mark Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com
September 15, 200322 yr Terry,The Real format should works fine for computers using Windows or Macintosh operating Systems.Just go to www.real.com and download the appropriate player for your operating system.
September 16, 200322 yr Great video!!I think the reason why most airlines only do night is because you are practing procedures, and not cruising around looking at your house and the freeway...blah, blah. Also you have to consider the focus in the sim is to maintian proficiency in emergency procs. The airlines won't invest huge amounts of money into gloss. Airbus' sim in Miami is an amazing piece of technological hardware, but the graphics reminded me of suBLogic's ATP :)

Like getting aquainted with difficult approach procedures and airports. For example LPMA (Madeira) is first practised in the sim and then in real life. Thus, the visual representation of Funchal has to be spot on in order to be able to practice. Older visuals which only simulate night flying are not qualified to be used in this way. They are indeed only used for instrument flying while the newest sims (see the picture a little higher) can be used as true "Zero flight time" flight trainers. That means a pilot will first fly the real aircraft when there are already passengers aboard. Older sims like the one you are referring to are not qualified to this standard.Regards,Mark Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com
