Comment on NEw 767

Featured Replies

Hey all. Although it was too long a string to read, I presume this new 767 is being released for FS2004? Its great to hear that a new one is being released, but I have a comment on that. The original, which I actualy bought and converted to FS2002, had some operational bugs to it due to the conversion, that I'm hoping are going to get fixed. (AC would not climb at times, causes joystick haywire, lights would not operate). I'm rather saddened to hear that there will not be a visual update. The original visual model because of its old technology was extremely slow on framerates, and I ended up converting everything to POSKY aircraft, which, after some MAJOR editing and troubleshooting, got to work. Even this way, there were many bugs. Perhaps the new 767 could be in co-op with POSKY to provide the visual model, and the new 767 panel, model, and soundset to be 100% compatible with it. At least that way, it would make everyone happy.

Hi there, did you use Lee Hetherington's PIC/POSKY merge? I have no problems with climb, all the lights work, joystick as well.I'm sure we'll know more, once the product is released for FS9. In any case, you wouldn't be able to use the original PIC model, so you'd have to merge it with others that are on offer, like POSKY or IFDG.Cheers,Gosta.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg

Let's hope Wade opens this up (exterior) to a talented exterior designer who is will to work for free! hehe. I am sure many would be proud to make a nice 767 for them...Maybe a 12 pack...[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. The current POSKY FDE for FS2002 works fine with the PIC panel. :)POSKY certainly wouldn't make a visual model for a payware devoloper to sell with their package. Hopefully we'll see a visual model in time for the release of PIC v2. :)

I read you loud and clear. I too was disapointed with the model supplied with PIC. My frame rates seem to have actually improved with the POSKY and IFDG models. Actually, I'm kinda glad that the PIC developers have choosen NOT to provide a new model. That gives them the time and effort to concentrate on what they do best. . .the sim. And, let's face facts. . .IFDG and POSKY are producing some of the most INCREDIBLE models I've ever seen. Have you seen the new POSKY 75? Absolutely AMAZING! I just don't think there is any way that the PIC developers can even come close to this level regarding the models.I will be very happy to merge that POSKY 75 with the yet un-named PICv2. . .especially if someone comes up with a TWA livery.

yes, I have tried the POSKY made merged for the 767. But I didin't want to use it because it doesnt take into consideration all the detailed performance aspects of the aircraft. The flight model is still POSKY, when I want it to be PIC; so therefore I need to do more editing myselft. I would hate to pay all that money for a new 767, only to go out and use someone else's visuals. I did that with PSS 747.

My merge uses PIC's flight model, not POSKY's.Lee Hetherington (KBED)

The PIC Team was not even involved in the making of PIC 1's visual model... that was Wilco's in-house people.Ryan>I read you loud and clear. I too was disapointed with the>model supplied with PIC. Nelson, As Lee said, the PIC/POSKY merge merely put the POSKY visual model together with the PIC FDE...the dynamics are strictly PIC and the plane should perform the same as the original PIC model if you merge it properly.Ryan
