PICv2 and home cockpit builders

Some of us are using PIC in their homebuilt cockpits. At least I do. Until now I was able to use the keyboard commands to operate switches and so on. A few have to be done via Key2Mouse, since there is no keyboardcommand attached to them. Many moons ago Wade told me in theis forum that the next version would have the possibility to read the intenr variable via FSUIPC. This would make it possible to have the leds in my cockpit working in sync with the panel.Much has been said about the new version, but these two subjects are still a bit in the shadow. So, what's the deal in the new version?Kind regards,Stephan Haaswww.lemont.nl/b767flightdeckhttp://www.pic767flyingclub.com/images/sas544.jpg

Hi Stephan,We are fully aware of the cockpit builders requests. We would be honored if you want to use our future Level-D 767 for this purpose. However, it's a complex matter and that demands an hard work from us to obtain what you want. At this time, it's too early to make any statement about that. Our first priority is now to release a B767-300 simulator for FS2004. Things like third-party hardware compatibility, integration with homebuild cockpits and so on will be considered after the release.

Thanks for the reply Laurent. Hope to see it happening sometime in the future...In the meantime, will you at least continue support for Aerosoft MCP/Efis/Eicas?

Laurent,Thanks for your answer.Does this mean that the initial release won't support keyboard combinations to the various switches like in the first PIC?And, in line with Ilan's question: will you support the Aerosoft MCP?To be honest: however good the PICv2 might be, both the keyboard combinations and the Aerosoft MCP are essential to me. Without them I will probably stick with the v1, because my cockpit is build on these.Reading the intern variables however via FSUIPC I consider an extra bonus. Seems pretty clear to me.

Brian,From a thread some time ago:"This brings me to another point: I'm building a semi cockpit around PIC767 as flightsim (see picture of the pedestal in a halfway state). I really would like to be able to read the variables of the PIC767 (state of the switches etc). I have two keyboard encoders to operate switches, but now I want to step up another one: reading the state of switches and lights.I do know of a few other people working on the same thing and it would really be a great plus to the sim.Can you make a statement on this Wade?Kind regards,Stephan Haas" to which Wade answered:"Don't worry Stephan, the next version will have full access to internal variables. We've already done that for some products and it will be available to all in our next product.Wade"If you want to read the whole thread:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho..._id=14947&page=Kind regards,Stephan Haaswww.lemont.nl/b767flightdeckhttp://www.pic767flyingclub.com/images/sas544.jpg
