Standby instruments / cockpit configuration / 'flight engineer' panel

Featured Replies

Hi guys,A few queries. Wasn't able to see the answers to these elsewhere but I apologise if I've overlooked them. Just wondering what standby instrument configuration the 767 is available with. The link below shows a recent-build 757 cockpit with a digital PFD-style backup gauge. http://www.airliners.net/open.file/782814/M/Is this configuration available on the real 767? If so is it modelled in the LDS release?Secondly, does the LDS cockpit environment represent a particular 'vintage' of 767? I'm not sure what changes have occurred over the lifespan of the airplane, with the exception of a few early -200 series that had a flight engineer.Speaking of flight engineers, there is a small panel behind the First officer, shown in the link below. What is its function? Is it modelled?http://www.airliners.net/open.file/238819/M/ Right, that's all you'll hear from me regarding feature queries til release!Mark

I can't see the image you posted there Gary, might just be me though. :)It's a litle foot-wide sideways facing panel, the flight manuals apprear to be stored there also.

Can't see the image too...

Best regards, Fritz ESSONO

Hi Gary,I've worked out which screenshot you were linking to and yes that is the console I was referring to.For those wondering what I'm on about refer to the VC screenshot first page, bottom centre image. (Looking right from captain seat)So yeah, what is that and is it modelled? :)

I am an avid globetrotter with my trusty Lufthansa B777F, Polar Air Cargo B744F, and Atlas Air B748F.

The optional (single) Standby Instrument was discussed, but more pressing issues got in the way. Perhaps it will appear in an update at a later time. The LDS1 First Observer's panel is basically a dummy (only the Flight Control Shutoff Valve panel will be operational). There is very little of interest to pilots on this panel.... and fully modelling it would probably add, literally, years to development and testing time.Hope this helps.Cheers.Ian R>

Thanks Ian,Appreciate the response. If it'd take years I think we can do without it!!! :-)Read the manual again last night. Getting excited now!Mark

>whats the deal with the single backup instrument, does it contain speed and altitude as on a 744 or 777 main adi display? cant tell from the photosDepends on the model fitted, but it should come with:AttitudeCompass headingILS deviationSpeedAltitudeHg/In switchLight adjustment buttonsBattery included.Cheers.IanP.S.
