SBrelay + SB + WideClient + FS2004

Featured Replies

Small problem (I hope)I have set up SB with FS2004 using SBrelay on a separte PC using Wideclient (later register version) I am using SB. Everthing connects OK. I can see myself listed in ServInfo and Whazzup, air traffic and see me on theie scope. BUT I CANNOT SEE ANY OTHER AIRCRAFT. The other aircaft on the ground are listed in SBrelay. I gave copy all the CLS aircraft into the aircraft dir in FS9. NOTHING.I would appreciate if anyone could help with this.ThanksAndrew.

A couple of questions Andrew.Have you run FS2k2 OK on your 2 PC setup before upgrading to FS2004?Do you connect through a firewall to the 'Net?If the answer to both questions is 'yes' then ignore me and listen to Mats :D If the answer to question 1 is 'no' but to 2 is 'yes' then you may have a similar problem to the one I had for ages with Win2kPro and XP Pro, it does not affect Win98, 98SE and AFAIK ME.I could connect to Vatsim and fly but, like you, could not see other a/c even though everything worked in 98SE OK.I ended up putting FS2k2 on the 'Net connected PC to make sure it worked there before looking for other problems.I run Zone Alarm firewall and when a program wants to connect to the 'Net it ask for permission. When I run FS2k2 on the connected PC ZA said 'MSDirectPlay Helper.exe wants to connect to the internet', I had never seen that program pop up before so I allowed it to connect and voila FS worked as it should on Vatsim.I allowed it to access the internet and be a 'server' through Zone Alarm, went back to my 2 PC set-up and FS2k2 has worked flawlessly ever since. The program isC:windowssystem32dplaysvr.exeI have not yet plucked up the courage to try SBRelay and FS9 on Vatsim yet so if your problem is to do with SBRelay listen to Mats again :-)Best of luck and I will follow this thread for when I do try FS9 with Vatsim.Rgds
