November 22, 200421 yr Say I wanted to fly Los Angele-Hongkong or Los Angeles-Heathrow, would I be flying in/out of VATSIM area and if so can this be arranged? I am assuming VATSIM is USA only but if I am wrong please correct me. Also I wonder if it is possible to use VATSIM services while flying such long haul flights in pieces (using save utility). Saving and later restarting the fligt where I left off. Thanks.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2 Michael J.

If you plan your flight to arrive at Heathrow between 1900z and 2100z on a Thursday, you'll have more ATC than you can shake a stick at!>>Also I wonder if it is possible to use VATSIM services while>flying such long haul flights in pieces (using save utility).>Saving and later restarting the fligt where I left off.As long as you're not within controlled airspace when you reconnect to the network, no one will mind. You'll need to refile your flight plan each time you reconnect though.Bruce Kilby BAW689Senior CaptainBritish Airways Virtual

You must be able to respond within 30minutes of the call.>Also I wonder if it is possible to use VATSIM services while>flying such long haul flights in pieces (using save utility).>Saving and later restarting the fligt where I left off.>Thanks.>Yes it is. Just do not reconnect inside really busy airspace (arround airports etc.). Just reconnect and resnd your Flight Plan and you are all set.Kyprianos Biris :-cool[link:avsim.com/greece/hvacc]Hellenic vACChttp://vateud.org/images/vatsim-eurs.gifhttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg Hellenic vACC - Olympic Aegean Virtual Prepar3D 5.3 | CPU i9 10900K | VGA: RTX 3070 | RAM: 32GB DDR4 | Monitor: 3440x1440
November 23, 200421 yr Just keep in mind that there is a 1/2 hour maximum period for unattended flights. That means that is not a good idea to leave FS connected to VATSIM and go to sleep etc since you have this time to answer to a supervisor call. There are also special provisions in some regions for x2-x16 flights.Jos
