Great idea AlkitMats Johansson, Boeing 737-700, Toronto Canada, (no website as of yet)Will be using FSBUS and Hagstroms. Currently planning on using 4 or 5 PCs with a projector for outside view, PM for glass displays or PMDG if they will release a SDK for their gem. Will emphasize on the throttles and AFDS system. Plan is to make them servo driven and as close to the real deal as possible.Cheers,

Mats Johansson

Our simulator is at the "Malmi Aviation Club" located in the Helsinki-Malmi (EFHF) airport (check out the excellent freeware scenery for Malmi (and other finnish airports) at http://fisd.fsnordic.net)We have a C172 simulator built into a C150 fuselage slice - the flight model is the RealAir 172SP which is reasonably OK. Avionics are pretty much what a C172 has - the challenge was to squeeze them into a C150 panel. Thus there are no double yokes but rather the right side hosts the engine gauges.Yoke & Pedals are self-built, gauges are SimKits and some self-made ones like the flap indicator, radios and other stuff are made with FSBUS and self-built panels (plywood with laminated paper on top)Pretty much everything works - we have reached the goal of flying without touching the mouse or keyboard during flight. The next goal is to get into VATSIM with it once we get the dsl set up.http://www.mik.fi/simulaattori/ (only in finnish for now, but with multilingual pictures :))//Tuomas(Our historic airport is in danger of demolition, please see http://www.pelastamalmi.org/en/index.html and sign the petition!)

Why there is a CRT monitor at the top of the sim cockpit???Alkit

>Why there is a CRT monitor at the top of the sim cockpit???>AlkitIt is a TFT actually that will later on become one of the side views. That is for Version 2.0 though and we want to fly first and enjoy the fruit of the hard work so far :-)The monitor on top is for playing with FS menus (plus you can see the scenery if you are outside - it mirrors the display on the cockpit. There is also a keyboard and a mouse - a bit awkward, but better than nothing - we will put a "console" on the table on the left side later on, it will have the mirrored display and the mouse & keyboard in a bit more convenient location to use.The beige big monitor is part of the visual system - the stuff under the monitor is from a Finnair DC-10 simulator that was retired from the finnair training center - it is a "collimated mirror" display that gives a nice 3d view - much like what Matt Ford has and what Mike describes at www.mikesflightdeck.com. Ours is just one segment of the surround view of 6 that the simulator had.//Tuomas
