August 18, 200619 yr Has anyone actually used this for MSFS? If so:What is your computer setup and configuration? Where are the slider settings on the graphics? How are the frame rates? Thanks,John JohnMy first SIM was a Link Trainer. August 18, 200619 yr Hey, I haven't got the Matrox Triplehead2Go myself, but I've been doing some reading on the internet about it.It says that it doesn't affect frame rates, and that it is totaly Plug & Play compatible with Windows XP. All you have to do is connect the 'box' itself to 2 other monitors and turn it on.I read this off the Matrox Triplehead2Go website. Hope it helps!Ryan
August 18, 200619 yr Hi,A friend of mine has one and he claims that he sees no difference in framerates between his former dual monitor setup and his triple monitor setup now. 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0
August 18, 200619 yr I have one, but don't have the space yet to create a good setup. So the only ride so far is a testride, wich was good. As soon as i have room enough i will create the following setup ; PC 1 (FS)AMD3000+ 2048MbNvidia 6800GT2 monitors attached to the nvidia card, running as a wideview server (so no outsideview on this one)PC 2 (Outside view)AMD3700+1024Mb Nvidia 6800 UltreTriplehead2goThe testride was good, and yes, it does cost frames, but not too much. I expect to have sliders full on my second pc, and using activesky etc. So far it had acceptable performance. Kind regards,Raymond
August 18, 200619 yr I picked one up shortly after it came out. I was concerned about framerates as well, so I upgraded my video card from an ATI9800 to a NVIDIA 7800 GS OC, which is the fastest NVIDIA card made for an AGP slot. The framerates have been pretty good for running on an older Dell 2.8GHZ machine. I have the target framerate set for 30fps and it rarely goes below that. I've got some pics of my three projector TH2GO setup on my site: wigrey.blogspot.com
August 18, 200619 yr The TH2Go presents itself to your graphics card as a 3840 x 1024 monitor. The electronics inside it split the output into three equal divisons and output them to the three monitors. It will therefore obviously have an effect on framerates unless you are already running at 3840 x 1024.
August 19, 200619 yr Author I want to thank all of you guys for replying to this and my other question on the Matrox Triple HEad2Go. I have been a member of this forum for three years. Time and time again you have proven to be the professionals at Flight Simming hardware. I posted the same request in the Matrox TH2Go forum. Now, here is a group of people who all claim to use the product. Know how many answers I received? Zero, nada, none.I decided on the system, using your input and from some computer hardware experts, such as, JohnMy first SIM was a Link Trainer. My last was a T-6 IIAMD Ryzen 7 7800 X3D@ 5.1 GHz, 32 GB DDR5 RAM - 3 M2 Drives. 1 TB Boot, 2 TB Sim drive, 2 TB Add-on Drive, 6TB Backup data hard driveRTX 3080 10GB VRAM, Meta Quest 3 VR Headset
August 20, 200619 yr You can search the forum for another thread about the same subject a few weeks (I think) ago - basically, it works fine, and enables "matrox parhelia" -type 3-screen visual display but using the latest whizbang NVidia card. Our Cessna sim uses the triplehead2go and it was a drop-in replacement to the Parhelia. We had to upgrade our computer setup, and were anxious to do so, because we did not want to go into WideView for the complexity and cost of three computer systems instead of one beefy one. So we got one kick-butt machine with a fast GeForce and the triplehead2go. Like it has been said, the speed is fine as long as your machine can handle the resolution. A decent gaming machine has no problem, your setup looks pretty close to what we have, and fps are nice. OF course if we install a lot of add-on crap with 100% ai traffic, then it can slow down - but that happens with any computer.//Tuomas
