American Airlines Textures for Mike's B757

Featured Replies

Hi Simmers,I have created another B757 FREE texture for Mike Stone's B757. It is one for the AA aircraft style of livery - I tried hard to get the blue metal effect for the top of the fuselage.http://www.gjsmith.com/images/B757-AA-3.jpghttp://www.gjsmith.com/images/B757-AA-4.jpgAnd of course this one has night textures:http://www.gjsmith.com/images/B757-AA-5.jpgShe is available now on:http://www.gjsmith.com/textures/b757.htmand of course there are 248 other free FS2002 aircraft textures available for your free download and use at:http://www.gjsmith.com/textures/by-type.htmHave fun - I hope you enjoy flying her.Garry J. Looks real nice Garry...as USUAL!!! :)Don

Thanks Don,Appreciate the response - After the forum issues lately about textures and real world liveries I thought the first response would be negative - "you can't do that" type of feedback.I am not going to get into any of those issues other than to say that Flight Simming is for fun - entertainment - enjoyment and personal challenges in hobby simmulating. I will never intentionally offend a Real Airline Livery creators perceptions of "Rights" - If one ever complains to me I will remove any offending textures from my site immediately. But it is a hobby - (should be) harmless to everyone - environment and I will continue to create and release many textures for FREE for the simming community.Garry J. Very cool, Garry.Since you're so talented at the aluminum textures, and since Mike has a 757 out now, you might take a crack at the AA lightning bolt RetroJet, their 757 in retro livery commemorating the 40th anniversary of commercial jet airline service. Do a search on airliners.net for N679AN.There are plenty of good closeups for the unique logos. If you're really into the retro stuff, look for some old AA 727 AstroJets. An airliners.net search for "AstroJet" will bring those up, as well as N951AA, a currently flying 737 in the AstroJet livery. I didn't know about that one until just now.

Very nice. Very nice indeed. You thief you....Sorry, couldn't help myself :-lol :-lol :-lol :-lolMike Stone

Damn - caughtDo I go "Directly to Jail" - "do not pass Go" - "do not Collect $200" - Damn again - that will have to be the end of all my texture creations - shutting down all web pages now then I will pack my bags and head for the islands as well. :-walksmile (Not for a very long time :-))Garry J. Got a snapshot of N679AN - will have a tinker - she does look interesting - but I need a good copy of the EAGLE image on the nose to finish her off - if anyone has one then please send it to me:[email protected] (not to big a file please - only have a 56k link)RegardsGarry J. There seems to be something wrong with the left wing 757 textures. They are the same right wing textures.Regards,Bill

Maybe you guys can help me, how do you properly add texture only airplanes to FS2002? It seems Every time I try to change the aircraft.cfg of the original aircraft, and add the new information of the new aircraft, the plane becomes unusable. The plane sinks into the ground while it's accelerating forward, then at a certain speed (I can't see the actual speed cause the numbers jump all over the place) then plane lift off and everything seems fine, but I don't have any joystick control or key control.I usually then get rid of the new texture plane, and the original plane and then re-install the original plane again and everything would be fine.Would anyone know what I'm doing wrong? And this happens any time I try and change a original aircraft.cfg fileMaybe I'm saving the new cfg file wrong or something?

Thanks Bill - checked the contents of the zip files and they seemed fine - then I checked the links - oops - left was linked to right - links on my site now fixed. Sorry people.RegardsGarry J. Smith at http://www.gjsmith.comAircraft Texture Tinkererhttp://www.gjsmith.com/images/GJS-banner.gif
