Since I have gotten quite some emails in the last days regarding posting screenshots I decided to post a little tutorial for all you newbies :)1. Take a screenshot in FS. I recommend using FSScreen. You can find it here: http://library.avsim.net/sendfile.php?DLID=117682. Open the screenshot in a picture editing program, for example PaintShopPro or Photoshop and resize it to 1024 x 768 resolution. Please also note that we only accept files up to 150kb in size. No more than 10 images per post allowed.3. Hit the post button. Type your post and when you want to add your first picture click on the 'Click here to choose your attachments' link under the message box. Select your attachment, select 'JPEG image file' and click on 'Check this box if you wish to embed attachment URL in the message text box.' to have your picture in the message. Click on 'Upload file' and repeat the same action for your every attachment. Please note that a max of 10 pictures per thread is allowed.4. When everything is finished hit 'Post message' :)Any further questions will be answered in this thread.I hope you found this tutorial of any help :)

I think I followed the instructions correctly. I selected the jpeg and hit upload. Shouldn't I see the file name in the attachment area of my post before I post it? I can't tell if the jpeg is attached because I don't see it.

Is the reason for the screenshot forum being closed so often because peoples uploaded pics.I always put my pics on my own server, the more we use avsims space and bandwidth the slower it gets, the more we risk the forum being closed for some time, the more bandwidth they have to pay for.I would suggest to everyone to use their own space, I know id like to see avsim stay free, and stay around. And i hate when my screenshot forums shuts down

>2. Open the screenshot in a picture editing program, for example PaintShopPro or Photoshop and resize it to 800x600 resolution. Please also note that we only accept files up to 125kb in size.In addition, if you do not own any resizing programs, try a program called Irfanview, download at the link below:http://www.irfanview.com/Jason :-wave

What is the advantage of using FSScreen (or similar) programs over:- Pausing the simulation- Waiting until the "Simulation Paused" message flashes off then pressing the Print Screen key- Creating a new image in Photoshop (or similar)- Pressing Ctrl-V to paste the screenshot- Saving at an appropriate size and level of detail?I attach a screenshot taken that way and reduced to 600 by 450 pixels and saved as a JPG from Photoshop CS at High Quality (8) to get the image size below the forum's limit. The aircraft is my Hawker Cygnet and the scenery is UK VFR Photographic Scenery. My computer is a standard Dell 2350 with- 2GHz Celeron processor- 512Mb 266MHz DDR RAM- Intel Extreme Graphics- Nokia 445Xav monitor 1024 by 768 http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/92928.jpg

The advantage is that you don't have to do any of that. You just press Print Screen and the picture is saved in the folder you put fsscreen.exe in. ;)

hi.i had gcs for screenshots but it always seemed to crash at interesting times in a flight:-grr so i've just uninstalled it and downloaded irfanview. my question is this- which key is pressed to 'take' the shots? i've tried 'prs' as for the other program, but that doesn't do it. any advice would be appreciated. thanks.

Hi there. Had thought I was sorting things out over the last few months with Fsscreen, which is really simple to use, but now it thinks I'm running 2 monitors and shows 2 pics side by side, sized at 1600x600. Any suggestions about getting 1 monitor back appreciated!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/109305.jpgthis image is a funny size because of being way too big to upload even as a jpg in it's normal size, so cropped like this it doesn't look like it does on the monitor, but each 1/2 shows an image and a black bit the same size or, if I take the screen, it shows two of them, only one has no icons!
