November 12, 200223 yr Commercial Member HI Sherm,Well, the grad degree is on hold right now. FSGenesis takes up 15-18 hous a day as it is, so not sure when I'd find the time for studying and writing. I plan on pursuing it again at a later time, after my business plan reaches it's goal and I can cut back on it's time requirements.Justin ________________ Justin - Toposim http://www.toposim.net

And, if you want to buy some, too, you can. But you're not required to buy, of course.Justin ________________ Justin - Toposim http://www.toposim.net
November 12, 200223 yr Hey Justin,As you can see I live in the Bahamas, does this landclass adjustment affect the Bahamas in any way? Or does this include the Bahamas as well?If it does great I'm gonna dload it tonight!!ThanksJasonhttp://www.forefrontgrp.com/jayssig.jpg"There is an art . . . to flying. November 12, 200223 yr Commercial Member HI Jason,Well, the original Beta 2a file I posted made it all look like a 15-foot storm surge hit the islands. The Beta 2a I posted last night put things back to normal. The currently posted version will have no effect on the Bahamas at all to my knowledge.Does the default Bajamas landclass leave something to be deisred? If so, let me know and I can dig up some data and add it to the next release.ThanksJustinFSG ________________ Justin - Toposim http://www.toposim.net
November 12, 200223 yr Hi Justin, didn't mean to pick on you! I apologize. dekAnd thanks for the freeware you have provided over the years!
November 12, 200223 yr Commercial Member HI Dek,No problem. :-)And, you're welcome. Even though I am a commercial developer now, I still like to give something back once in a while. It's good for the soul.ThanksJustinFSG ________________ Justin - Toposim http://www.toposim.net
November 14, 200223 yr Hi Justin. D/L the file yesterday 13th. The picture showned during installation process suggest that the covering extend to about 50N lat. across major part of Ontario and Quebec.I checked this to be correct for Ontario but, for Quebec, I haven't found any LC replacement over MSFS original except for a margimal band of few miles along the Ottawa river (Quebec/Ontario border). To the south, again the new LC seams to stop right along US/Quebec border. I don't see any problem with Montreal as there is no change at all in this area.Am I correct saying this?. Otherwise, this new LC covering looks real great over some US and Ontario territoried I checked. I particulary love the presence of all the small towns and villages which gives the whole experience a more living face. Also real nice for low and slow VFR night flying :-)Thanks for this superb addon. Hope I will find some fix for Quebec as it is the place I know best because that is.... where I live!!Hugo
November 14, 200223 yr Commercial Member HI Hugo,Yes, there is just small portion of Quebec covered at the moment. But I'm looking for some good data to use. When I find it I'll be adding a greater protion of Quebec. Thanks for your commentsJustinFSG ________________ Justin - Toposim http://www.toposim.net
November 14, 200223 yr Thanks for the fast reply Justin. Shurely will be on the look for it :-) It's a much more pleasant experience when one can relate to known landmarks like towns and villages. Hugo
November 14, 200223 yr Justin -First of all, nice job on the Landclass so far. I have installed it and have certainly enjoyed it. I had LC installed from Michigan down to Colorado, which Cas Stephens created, so the added US coverage is nice to see (literally and figuratively). :-)However, I have a couple of questions for you regarding the beta:1) Have you or anyone else noticed the loss of waves on inland lakes when using LC addons? I noticed this using Cas' LC in Michigan, although when I fly in states without addon LC, I have the waves. Last night, while flying in Florida (using your beta LC), I noticed that the inland lakes did not have the waves, while the gulf coast did. Any ideas why?2) Without trying to run afoul of the rules concering commercial developers, can you tell me how much you intend to charge for the completed US LC and any updates?Regards,http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jsnyder99/sigs/name.jpg
November 14, 200223 yr Commercial Member HI Jeff,Haven't noticed the loss of waves, though no waves on inland lakes wouldn't be all that unrealistic. I've not seen many breakers on many inland lakes IRL.I'll have some sort of easy mechanism for end-users to submit revision reports pertaining to their local areas, and I'll be incorporating these revisions into the ever-evolving product, as well as making my own changes as I study maps, aerial photos, etc.It will be constantly tweaked and tuned . . .I've answered your pricing question privately so as not to offend some of the more sensitive forum members . . .JustinFSG ________________ Justin - Toposim http://www.toposim.net
November 14, 200223 yr Well, the default scenery for the Bahamas exists of exactly nothing at all plus a few coastlines. Some attention was given to making the larger islands green (like forest) and the small ones brown (like sandbanks) but that's about it.
November 14, 200223 yr I noticed mountain terrian in Vero Beach Fla. Love the more trees and cities but not sure about seeing mountain terrian in flat fla.Kilstorm
November 14, 200223 yr Commercial Member HI Kilstorm,There isn't any terrain elevation data in landclass. What terrain package do you have installed?JustinFSG ________________ Justin - Toposim http://www.toposim.net
November 14, 200223 yr Commercial Member I think he means he's seeing mountain textures in FL, not actual mountains... ;) Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
