April 30, 200422 yr Hey everyone,Right now I have a Geforce4 4200ti 64mb that came with my Dell 8300 2 years ago. Obviously, that card is past its age and I need to upgrade. After looking at reviews, benchmarks, price etc I'm pretty much sold on getting a ATI 9800 Pro 128mb and hoping to try my hand at overclocking it. The only problem is that in only a few months ATI will probably be releasing their new card. As you all know, this reduces the prices of existing cards. I don't plan on buying this latest card, but should I just spend the $200 now and get my card and enjoy it, or shoudl I wait until the release and try my hand at getting the 9800XT? Thanks! -Cal
May 1, 200422 yr Get it now... not worth waiting extra days for the negligable performace increase of the xt. As a matter of fact most radeons can be Overclocked to perform just like the xt. May 2, 200422 yr Wait. Prices will drop soon as new models come out. Of course if you really want top of the line, there's always the nVidia Geforce 6800.
May 2, 200422 yr Well: I just made the leap. You also have to consider availability. There will be a mad scramble when the XT comes down to $200. I had to shop around to find a $200 9800. K
