MY SPECS:P4 3GHZ MSI neo-2p motherboardMSI 9800PRO 128MB 256BIT512 DDR 333BUS I ve lately upgraded from FX5200 to 9800pro and what a huge huge difference ,i can sit at heathrow with very heavy traffic and weather 4xAA , 8xAF,1024x1280 res and still get 26-30FPS,thats with default aircraftsi now have one problem:its ADDON AIRCRAFTS like PMDG737,747 OR LVLD767 ,i get very annoying and Bouncing 13-22FPS even in default airports with no traffic and zero AA and AF.i can afford to get 1gig of DDR RAMS(KINGSTONE)and activate DUALCHANNEL property will i experince any improvement at ADDON aircrafts performance?????i ve heard that RAMS have nothing to do with FPS or overall performance is that true????

You should expect faster load times and smoother operation overall, but I would not expect better fps.I upgraded from 512 to 768 Meg and am happy I did, but fps did not change.

Yes, and to expand on that, part of the reason you're getting low FPS with add-on aircraft is that add-on panels tend to require a lot of raw computing (i.e. CPU) power. The gauges, the FCU/MCDU etc. are all very computing-intensive. RAM will do very little, if anything, to improve your computing power.I see the only way to substantially improve your FPS with add-on aircraft would be to upgrade your CPU and that would likely involve also changing your motherboard (and possibly your video card and RAM as well).Hope this helps.Edwin

Hi, I read your post and found it of interest - you have a similar system to me - I have K7N2 Delta nVidia motherboard, Athlon 2700+ CPU, I gig RAM (not sure make) nVidia 6800 LE card. Same rez. as you using a 19" Flatron CRT monitor - At heathrow Real weather default traffic 4XAA 4XAF etc. frame rates were 41/42 on the default Cessna. The interesting bit .... I then changed planes to: MAAM Briefing Time B25, Real Air Spitfire, Wings of power B29 ..... All of them were within 41/42 +/- 1 or 2 frames. This was on the outside view of each plane - cockpit views were little different.Does this help at all?Regards Blue

Hi Bluescaster,Maybe i didnt get your point ,the FPS i mentioned was in VC mode with very complex aircrafts like PMDG747 ,although i think your VGA is more better than mine. Thanks for the replies

OK .... I now understand. I will try it with the VC when I return from my short break. Regards Blue.
