November 25, 200223 yr Just curious. Can weather center do winds aloft forecasts ? And if so can they be based on submitted Flight Plan waypoints, and crossing altitudes ?Regards.Ernie.

November 25, 200223 yr Moderator Martin,<>Not when I see a statement like this...The Expert version includes aloft weather (US only)So what happens in Europe for example? Calm breezes at 35000ft?I suggest you try FS Meteo which provides accurate weather around the globe including winds aloft. You'll have to put your hand in your pocket but you'll get a better product. http://205.151.62.117/FSMET.htmCheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). November 25, 200223 yr >I suggest you try FS MeteoTotally agree Ray - and for only a lousy 14EUR more (or 3EUR for users of previous versions).Cheers,Paul http://www.strontiumdog.plus.com/Fortress.gifVoted Best Virtual Airline of 2002 and Best CEO of 2002 by participants in the BIG VA Vote organized by FSPILOT.comVANF "Best" New Virtual Airline AwardOfficially licenced by British Airways plc for use of name and logohttp://www.strontiumdog.plus.com/saint_georgex1.gifhttp://www.strontiumdog.plus.com/RCsupporter.jpg

November 26, 200223 yr IMHO FSMeteo is just an excellent weather program for MSFS. I have flown all over the world and FSMeteo has proved itself over and over again. I check the weather prior to flight with several real world weather programs and FSMeteo will match that weather 90% of the time, both surface and upper level conditions including winds.Cheers,Bob Johnson
November 26, 200223 yr Hi all, First I have to say that I totally agree with all the fellow simmers that say that price is not the only factor to consider when purchasing/reviewing and giving oppinions about an add-on, certainly and only before FS Activesky in its new version is released, and reviewed, FS Meteo, with all its tradition features and reliability will be the best dinamic weather add on for FS2002, and this is taking in consideration its price. But I also dissagree in the way people respond to certain threads, it looks like that this is not an oppinion place, but a fighting arena!!Please cool things a little bit, everybody comes here to learn about this hobbie from those that have gone beyond...I apologize if my judgement is wrong... maybe its that my english is not good enough and I have a wrong and mistaken perception of ruoughness (?) and sarcasm in some responses around this forums....maybe...
November 26, 200223 yr Moderator Gabriel,I think you're being a little over-sensitive. The originator of this thread made quite a bold statement and several including myself felt it needed correcting before others less knowledgeable were misinformed. Ray (Cheshire, England). November 26, 200223 yr how can it be better than active sky, WITH winds aloft, for FREEBecause ActiveSky only Simulates the winds aloft, doesn't give you your destination weather just by typing it in, etc........
November 26, 200223 yr Author Commercial Member Hi, not entirely true... winds aloft simulation is for outside the US. Inside the US (except Hawaii) winds aloft information is downloaded and used. Also, you CAN get destination airport information with ActiveSky (v1.5+) by typing it in and clicking the GET button.

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxresmallbanner.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
