December 22, 200223 yr I'm not really great at writing custom metar strings,so I'm looking for readymade metar files which can help me fly in tornadoes (past or present) but cant find any.Can anybody help out pleaseThx in advanceJK
December 22, 200223 yr Do you really think that any aircraft would EVER fly in those conditions???? I think NOT!Best Wishes,Randy J. " A little learning is a dangerous thing" Randy J Smith
December 22, 200223 yr Commercial Member Hmmm, fly in a tornado??Well in real life that would be ludicrous but since we're simming, why not?! The METAR can only handle entries of up to 99 knots wind speed, however, you can use custom offline winds aloft entries (in the .fd file) to get up to 199 knots. Here's a fun METAR:KFUN 222000Z 09050G99KT 3SM +TSRW 03/01 A2880Try this by disabling TAF processing and then pasting into custom metar string and hit the custom write button (You can use with TAF processing if you change the time entry to match current time).Have fun! :-lol-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
December 22, 200223 yr Commercial Member Hi, disable taf processing then try this line.. just paste it.. I confirmed that it works just fine... Paste it into the TOP custom field (the single line, the one for the METAR entry) then press custom write.KFUN 222000Z 09050G99KT 3SM +TSRW 03/01 A2880-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...]
[/table Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
