Simulator Time

Featured Replies

I noticed this problem with FS2K2 since the new beta release. The problem has nothing to do with wxRE, I know, but I thought someone here could shed some light on it -- When I launch FS2K2 the system time and date are correct as long as the local date is the same date as GMT. However, if I launch FS2K2 at a time when the GMT date is different than the local date (this is a 6-hour period from 6PM MDT to midnight) the FS2K2 date is two days off from GMT and one day off from MDT - both are earlier than the GMT date (the times are correct). To add to the mystery, Windows system time and date are always correct, it is just FS2K2 that is incorrect and only during that 6-hour period.Does anyone know what's going on here and, perhaps, a way to correct it?Thank you in advance for any help.

Hi,They've got some logic bug there. There is an add-on called FSREALTIME that solves this issue by always synching your date and time, HOWEVER, this add-on causes FSUIPC communications lockups on some systems (which can prevent wxRE weather writes to FS). If you try this add-on and have problems you should remove it. Maybe I'll work on a time synch option for future wxRE versions!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table

That would be great, Damian, if you can find the time - of course, no pun intended. In the mean time (there I go again), I'll get FSREALTIME and see what trouble it brings.Thank you, John.

John and Damian,I run FSRealtime with v1.8 with no problems on a XP system. FSRealtime seems to work very well with autoupdate ticked.Bob

I use FStimesync. I'm not sure it has all the bells and whistles of FSRealtime. There's a couple others out there. Hopefully it will be fixed in FS9.scott s..
