FS2K2 & 2K4 + WxRE

Featured Replies

HiJust wondering. If I have Fs2K2 and 2K4 on my system and then install the WxRE 1.9 upgrade, will WxRE still work on FS2K2? Haven't bought 2K4 yet as all my favorite planes are on 2K2, but am thinking about 2K4 :-)Thanks for any advice/help.Gavin

Hi,I have WxRe 1.9 installed with FS2004, but I got a "FS disconnected" message in WxRE. It doesn't update weather in FS2004 at all. Am I doing something wrong, do I forget something?? I installed WxRe 1.9 first (because I use it also with FS2002) and after that I installed FS2004. And I have FSUIPC 3.03 unreg. installed.Anyone..?Regards,Rob

Hi Rob,Well if wxRE is still saying disconnected with FS loaded, then the only answer is that FSUIPC is not loading. Can you confirm you have the proper fsuipc.dll in your FS9modules folder and that when you run FS you get a "Modules" pull down menu option in FS? Hi,Holland Holland. I am having the same problem as you and am in the same situation regarding unregistered FSUIPC. I don't mind registering, (it probably is not the solution though) just wanted to see how things developed in how I use FS2002 & 2004 together first.wxRE still works fine in FS2002, with 1.9 and 3.03.IN FS2004 I have no modules drop down box. Thanks for all help.Tim.

Hi Tim,FSUIPC v3 isn't installed then - you need to copy the fsuipc.dll file (v3.03) to your new fs9modules folder... Can you confirm this?-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg]
[/table://http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/ima...
[/table

Hi Damian,Thanks for your quick reply. I loaded up FS2004 this morning and looked in the Modules folder to find no FSUIPC, so installed it and all is working fine. Thanks for your help. I have been using a number of past versions of FSUIPC so know that you simply drop the dll file into the Modules folder. You're never going to believe any of this, but I could have sworn blind that I did this on three seperate occasions yesterday to try to get it to work, thinking that I might have placed it in the wrong folder by mistake. I may be old and doddery, but 31 is not that far gone! Thanks for your help and sorry to bother you when I seem to have malfunctioned somewhere along the line.Tim.

Thnaks for the suggestion and solution...indeed FSUIPC 3.03 was missing although I thought I had it installed but it was FS2002 in which I installed it in...how stupid, how human after installing fsuipc for 2 years in FS2002 ;)
