AS2004 MR1 doesn't load weather in FS9

Featured Replies

Hi,Ok, AS2004 1.0 worked great, so I decided to wait for the offical patch release. But now I have a problem:FS9 doesn't get any weather from AS2004. I tried the things written in the FAQ (clear all weather, refresh, etc.) but nothing worked. The thing is, it worked when I tried it out at some airport offline... The clouds worked, but the wind didn't.So, today I wanted to fly from Gatwick online with the PMDG 737, but I hade 0 winds and no clouds. METAR says something completely different. I tried it with the AS2004 default settings, but nothing worked. I have FSUIPC 3.201 and AS2004 1.0 worked without any problem, except the sometimes sudden wind changes.Has someone an idea?

Hi,Strange. Can you confirm that the write process occurs OK without any errors? A look at your as2004.log will help - can you post it here? Also - do you use squawkbox or ATOC? If so make sure to disable real wx in those apps to avoid conflicts. -Damian

No, I don't get any error and weather is turned off in squawkbox. I don't know what ATOC is, so I suppose I don't use it.The thing is, it worked offline (except the wind) but didn't online.v1.0 works without any problems and I'm using it now, so I don't have a as2004.log but I'm sure there are the same messages as in v1.0 except the longer waiting time for writing to FSUIPC. No error or something like that.Mathias

Same thing here... I uninstalled en reinstalled both the basic en the MR1 version. Basic worked fine, but that is the US system only. Also cleared the weather within FSUIPC and I get data on the main screen of AS2004, but further no clouds, winds and always standard setting 1013. The weather here now is very cloudy, winds 200/14 and 1019... but where is it?I also entered my flightplan, but that again I can't find it anywhere within the main screen. Clouds/turb. areas are still many times gone from the radar...John

Well I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that's having this problem. AS worked flawlessly until a few days ago, then I noticed that weather is not being loaded in FS. Today was really bad. I got zero weather until halfway of flight from KORF to KATL. Then all of a sudden clouds and wind pop up out of nowhere. I ve reinstalled 3 times now. I guess I'll try a forth time maybe that's the charm.Bill M

Hi,To all having this problem,Make sure ONLINE UPDATES is enabled if you want live updates. Also, TAF processing can cause wx to deviate from the METAR (by design) - you may want to turn it off. Does this help?-Damian

Unfortunatly nothing changed. I got 3 differend quotes, 1 on the green bar, the next on the AS screen and clear weather outside. Also tried the reinstall etc.

Here you are://AS2004 configuration file[General]WindowPosX = 5160WindowPosY = 5205DefaultWeatherFolder = D:Flight Simulator 9ModulesActiveSky2004SuppressionCeiling = 2000SurfaceWindLimit = 10CloudLayerLimit = 5LocalSuppressionRange = 100MinimumVisibility = 0MaximumVisibility = 50IncreasedWake = FalseDisableWindsAloft = FalseForceDestinationWeatherZone = FalsePreventIcing = TrueOnlineUpdates = TrueExtendedDestinationWindsForce = FalseGlobalWrites = FalseVoicePlayback = FalseLocalSuppression = TrueStartupSound = FalseUseProxyServer = FalseFogLayerGeneration = TrueUpdateSuppression = TrueOvercastEnhancement = TrueRouteWindSmoothing = TrueLimitSurfaceWinds = FalseLimitCloudLayers = FalseAutoGlobalWriteToggle = TrueCCWindsFix = TrueDisableUpperLayerGeneration = FalseVisibilitySmoothing = TrueDisableMessages = FalseAutoTimeZoneDetection = TrueUpdateInterval = 10VATSIMData = FalseZuluConversion = 1TAFProcessing = FalseEnforceVisibilityLimits = TrueWakeTurb = TrueStartPaused = FalseUseSystemTime = TrueDisableCAVOKClouds = FalseProxyAddress = NONE

Yes, as I said I have AS2004 v1.0 installed now, because it works, but I don't get ANY weather, not false weather. No wind, no clouds, standard QNH or Alitmeter. Online Updates are enabled, for sure.Mathias

Hi,Have you tried clearing all wx via standard FS9 clear wx theme + FSUIPC clear all wx command? Sometimes themes can cause FS9's wx system to lock, and clearing it as above should reset things. Please use MR1 and post your AS2004.log file so we can see where the problem is. Feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] as well. An FSUIPC log would also help. Thanks!-Damian

I reinstall AS MR1 and flew from RSII to RJAA in in a lear 35 last night. Although the weather loaded as normal, when I got to cruize alt of 350, the wind shifts was so violent, the plane rolled over. This was with flt plan loaded and partly cloudy skies. As I approached RJAA, about 100mi out, it was still partly skies and winds drop back to normal. AT 15 mi out rain and clouds appeared from nowhere.//AS2004 configuration file[General]WindowPosX = 5160WindowPosY = 5205DefaultWeatherFolder = G:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9ModulesActiveSky2004SuppressionCeiling = 2000SurfaceWindLimit = 10CloudLayerLimit = 5LocalSuppressionRange = 100MinimumVisibility = 0MaximumVisibility = 50IncreasedWake = FalseDisableWindsAloft = FalseForceDestinationWeatherZone = FalsePreventIcing = FalseOnlineUpdates = True[General]History=WindSmoothing=NoWhiteMessages=NoThrottleSyncAll=YesGraduatedVisibility=NoLowerVisAltitude=6000UpperVisAltitude=25000UpperVisibility=6000GenerateCirrus=YesWindShearSharp=NoUpperWindGusts=YesExtendMetarMaxVis=NoPatchSimApAlt=NoAutoClearWeather=YesExtendTopWind=NoWindSmoothness=5SmoothPressure=NoPressureSmoothness=5SmoothVisibility=YesVisibilitySmoothness=2MaxSurfaceWind=0WindLimitLevel=200WindDiscardLevel=400WindAjustAltitude=NoWindAjustAltitudeBy=2000MinimumVisibility=0MaximumVisibilityFewClouds=0MaximumVisibility=0MaximumVisibilityOvercast=0MaximumVisibilityRainy=0OneCloudLayer=NoThinClouds=NoThinThunderClouds=NoCloudThinness=1000ThunderCloudThinness=10000CloudTurbulence=NoCloudIcing=NoWindTurbulence=NoSuppressAllGusts=NoExternalOptionControl=YesAutoTuneADF=NoKeepFS98CloudCover=NoShowPMcontrols=NoMagicBattery=YesRudderSpikeRemoval=YesElevatorSpikeRemoval=YesAileronSpikeRemoval=YesReversedElevatorTrim=NoTrapUserInterrupt=YesNavFreq50KHz=YesClockSync=NoSmoothIAS=YesSetVisUpperAlt=NoVisUpperAltLimit=6000MaxIce=-4SuppressCloudTurbulence=NoSuppressWindTurbulence=NoSpoilerIncrement=512TCASid=FlightTCASrange=40TrafficScanPerFrame=10AxisCalibration=NoCentredDialogue=NoClearWeatherDynamics=NoOwnWeatherChanges=NoFixWindows=NoFixControlAccel=YesWeatherReadInterval=4MoveBGLvariables=YesMainMenu=&ModulesSubMenu=&FSUIPC ...SetStdBaroKey=66,10ThrottleSyncToggle=77,8[JoystickCalibration]FlapsSetControl=0ReverserControl=66292MaxThrottleForReverser=0AileronTrimControl=0RudderTrimControl=0Aileron=-16383,0,0,16383Elevator=-13615,0,0,13768Rudder=-16008,0,0,15757Throttle=-9097,15049PropPitch=-16193,16192Mixture=-16193,16192LeftBrake=-4544,4504RightBrake=-4608,4504ExtendedDestinationWindsForce = FalseGlobalWrites = TrueVoicePlayback = FalseLocalSuppression = TrueStartupSound = FalseUseProxyServer = FalseFogLayerGeneration = TrueUpdateSuppression = TrueOvercastEnhancement = TrueRouteWindSmoothing = TrueLimitSurfaceWinds = FalseLimitCloudLayers = TrueAutoGlobalWriteToggle = TrueCCWindsFix = TrueDisableUpperLayerGeneration = FalseVisibilitySmoothing = TrueDisableMessages = FalseAutoTimeZoneDetection = TrueUpdateInterval = 10VATSIMData = FalseZuluConversion = -8TAFProcessing = TrueEnforceVisibilityLimits = TrueWakeTurb = TrueStartPaused = TrueUseSystemTime = TrueDisableCAVOKClouds = FalseProxyAddress = NONEBill M

John,Your settings look good. I need to know the METAR data you are seeing in all three places. Screen shots would work or a copy and paste or a text report.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

I did not read this whole thread, but it has been open for awhile. I had the same problem. AS worked, everything was cleared prior to AS start up. All procedures followed, just no weather getting to FS. I had a couple of trojan viruses, cleaned them all out, uninstalled FS all the way out and a fresh install was preformed with FS and AS. As of now, everything is working right. No problems. So maybe my problem was with FS. Anyhow, the whole reinstall thing is a big pain in the butt, but very much needed. Maybe you might want to consider this to see if this will fix you data writting problem with fs.Hope this helps.

I have done the same a week a go, still same result.
