March 26, 200422 yr HelloI noticed lately that Activesky doesn't get proper metars and tafs for Israel:LLBG, LLSD, LLIB, LLOV, LLET.It gives METARS from Jordan and Lebanon, but rarely has Israel. When it does have LLBG, it doesn't have LLET and other.I think the HiFi network has problems getting these Metar, and I can't understand why - they are available for the VATSIM and IVAO networks and are usually up to date.It hasn't always been like this. Can you please look into it?
March 26, 200422 yr Hi,Thanks for the report. All your mentioned airports are included in the database. I was able to pull up LLBG and LLOV. The other 2 that you listed had incomplete data in the download. I am not sure why this is. We'll have to let Damian look at this.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
March 26, 200422 yr I know LLBG is present in current repot, but sometimes it is not (lately).LLIB, LLSD, LLJR and LLET are problematic...I usually get OJAQ for LLET and OJAM for LLBG or LLSD.OLBA is for LLIB. There is no reason as all these airports are active stations...Thanks for the help.
March 29, 200422 yr Any news onthis matter?Yesterday (28.3.04) there was no METAR for any airport in Israel - LLBG, LLSD, LLIB, LLET, LLOV - all active and reporting stations. You must understand this issue reders AS unusable for me and some friends who have AS2004.
March 30, 200422 yr Sorry, but none that I know of. I will contact Damian.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
March 30, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi All,Apparently the Israel stations mentioned have been reporting "NIL" erroneously lately. NIL means that no data is included, although an actual report is coming across the network. Our server handles a NIL report by ignoring it as the data is invalid (by design). The problem is that the NIL reports are coming through between every normal hourly cycle (one good report, one NIL, one good, one NIL, etc.) and the server ignores the good one when a NIL is issued later (as it is technically the more current METAR). A problem on the backbone network or the actual stations themselves. Regardless, I am adding code to handle this situation when a station erroneously reports NIL. I should have the work-around ready and working on the server transparently within a couple days. Thank you for your reports and patience!-Damian Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies

September 8, 200421 yr HelloYou have stated a while ago that you are going to fix this issue about Israel's METARs in AS.But still, AS reports other stations when queried about Israeli Stations:These are two exampkles where AS returned Aqaba and Amman instead of Eilat and Ben Gurion.http://grm.m.walla.co.il/briefcase/00f3/i/...74325/AS-IL.jpgAt the same time, other sources reported correctly.http://grm.m.walla.co.il/briefcase/00f3/i/...67654/VS-IL.jpgCan you do anything about it?
September 10, 200421 yr Hi,Ok, I'll answer: I don't know, and that is the truth. I have not heard from Damian in about a week. He hasn't been posting anywhere, so I conclude, that some real world stuff is going on in his life, which is overshadowing his work on AS. If I could make those stations suddenly appear on your Active Sky I would. But I can't, and seeing you directed the latest posts to Damian I didn't respond until now. And please do not shout about the kind of support given here. We do our damnest to post as soon as possible, day and night, before work, after work, on weekends, on holidays, during times we were on vacation, by e-mail, by p.m.s, on multiple Forums accross the Internet.Edit: One more thing, I noticed you are still running Build 90. Did you realize that maybe this issue has been worked on with the latest release?JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
September 11, 200421 yr Your point is taken, and I am sorry for the "tone".But you must understand that this is not a freeware product, and as a paying customer I expect to have answer when I ask something in the support forum, and not having the stuff ignore me, presonal business or not. If the product would have been free it was a different issue. Anyway, "Damian is away and will be back in two weeks" is an answer I can live with too. The build issue is something I wasn't aware off, and this is why I ask questions in the support forum. I will check it out. Thanks,
September 12, 200421 yr Your point is taken and is valid as well! I will learn from my mistake!!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
September 12, 200421 yr Hi Oren,Damian has read your posts and wishes to say that he will be working on this un resolved issue. He thought the issue was solved with the last server update, but it is not.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
