Outside air temperature too high

Featured Replies

>All across the US right now we have higher than normal upper>temps. As Michael mentioned, it's hot outside!Your right. This was the reason for my slow climbs. During my tests I was looking at the last window on the Active Sky nav log which gives you the temps at the waypoints in your route. I was assuming ActiveSky was calculating my height and so I used those values but I just noticed the line at the bottom saying that these values were taken from a cruise level of 33,000. I did all my routes again and Activesky produced the same numbers in the sim as it did on the forecast. >This experience proves that AS2004's data and depiction is superior.Nice product plug. heh. You don't have to tell me, I have been using Activesky for over a year now. I know what a great product it is. This experience just proves that with the latest build, Activesky has reached the level of sophistication to realistically produce real world weather phenomenon in the simulation. I have never experienced this phenomenon before and I have been flying with the PMDG 737 for 9-10 months and Activesky for over a year. So, looks like I either need to dump some excess baggage, lose some passengers, or find a cooler place to fly. Thanks for the help and sorry to bother you.Ryan

Hi Ryan,No bother at all!I am glad you wrote about this, it is very normal that increased realism (especially when not available before) can cause unexpected results. It reminds us that AS2004 is successfully challenging pilots with increased realism aspects. Thanks for your feedback Ryan!!-Damian

Damian,Now there's a very true statement about realism and challenge!I made a flight yesterday at roughly 1:00pm PDT, from Mexicali to Van Nuys in the Flight 1 Meridian. With a local OAT of 39
