June 19, 200520 yr Just a wild guess but are you trying to install the update to ASV instead of the upgrade for AS2004 users? The update for ASV users is named ASV-SU1.zip.
June 19, 200520 yr nope, i have the upDATE (ASV-SU1) downloaded and awaiting installation. what i'm unable to install is ASV-UPGRADE.everything seems normal but when i get to the area whereyou have the option of what to install (or not i assume),the box is blank.
June 19, 200520 yr well i've searched for the answer without success. i have as2004 installed and updated to as2004.5 but when i try to install the upgrade to asv, the area where you select what you want to install is blank and i'm told that asv is NOT installed. what am i missing here?thanks.
June 19, 200520 yr Commercial Member HI, did you reboot your computer after you have installed active 4.5 ? if no, restart your computer, then install ASV.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis

June 19, 200520 yr >yep, rebooted and defragged.>>am i the only one this is happening too???>>kinda wish i woulda sprung for the extra bucks>and got the full version now. No, you are not the only one. This upgrade is a crock and that installer is a little piece of ###### code. I had FS start getting screwy on me, so I remove all my stuff from the C-drive (FS9, ASV, PMDG, etc.) and reinstall it all on a separate 40GB hard drive I've had sitting around. It's a faster drive than my 120GB, so I figure'd it'll help performance a bit plus keep all my FS stuff away from my work stuff. All loads except ASV, and it's all because of that upgrade installer. The installer won't allow me to upgrade it since it's no longer installed on the drive C:. I can't even uninstall then reinstalled, and let's not get into the number of reboots I've been thorough. I've all but p***ed away 3 hours trying to apply the software with no luck. This is rediculous.I've been a paying client for some time now, and it's just not right to have software control the install like this. If I wanted to crack it, why would I purchase it?!? You're giving me a very strong urge to just go and do that and not feel the least bit of regret in doing so. Myself and all the others that bought and used your previous version of AS deserve much better treatment than this. Shame on you HiFi SIM for making the loyal users go through all this BS just so you can wage your own little anti-piracy war. Time to send me and the others with such problemss the link for the full version.Mark
June 19, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi,Please give us a break. You think we are doing this on purpose? To wage an anti-piracy war? Please.. why would we go so far to give you a FULL INSTALL OF ASV via the upgrade verification process? All of this with no machine serialization or registration required... to make things harder for you? No.. contrarily, we do it to make things easier for you and YES this means more piracy for us. That is why we have the server log access attempts to detect and deter piracy.Wow, lots of negative energy! Shame on us, this is a crock, ###### code? Please guys, consider what you are saying before you say it.Now, I must ask, DID YOU READ THE INSTRUCTIONS? If so, on what step does the process fail? Thanks! Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
June 19, 200520 yr Ummmm yes i did read the instructions, three times.yes, i've tried to reinstall the whole thing....three times.i get to the ASV install but nothing installs. I'm not#### about copy protection or anything, i just want the product i paid for to work...or at least install!!!
June 19, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi,The above post was in response to Mark's post.Sorry you are having problems... I hope I can help get things working right for you ASAP.So you were able to install the ASV-UPGRADE package.. which folder did you install it to? Then you were able to install the setup.exe from the FULL ASV package, and this failed by not giving a proper installation screen? I have not heard of this report but please give me some more information on what is happening, maybe a screenshot of the error? Where is FS9 installed on your system? Where did you install the full package? The install process (talking about ASV FULL INSTALL, not the ASV UGPRADE/UNPACK INSTALLER) will look for your FS9 folder. If not found it defaults to C:ASV. Do you see this screen showing your FS9 path and then "next" to continue to install to this location?Sorry again for the problems, please feel free to e-mail me this info directly to [email protected] for immediate resolution. Thanks! June 19, 200520 yr i've tried everything. maybe i'm not making myself clear.i never get to asv installer. i unzip asv-upgrade, runsetup but the box that in prior installations was telling me what i was installing is completely blank. if i hitnext, the process proceeds in the blink of any eye, but noasv files are installed, visible, apparant...whatever.i've tried installing as2004.5 on my c: drive but it seemsto need fs9 (which is on g: )i'd gladly buy the full version for another 10 bucks or so,this is driving me berserk.greg
