Error message when converting clouds to DXT textures

Featured Replies

After installing ASV Enhanced I'm trying to convert my clouds to DXT textures, but when I click on 'enable DXT' I get an error message which reads:'There was a problem executing the DXT update batch file. This may be due to your security/anti-virus settings. You can manually run the batch file and convert your textures by double-clicking on ASV/ActiveEnvironment/dxt.bat'First of all I tried disabling my anti-virus program and still got the same message. Also, when I go into the ASV/ActiveEnvironment folder there is no dxt.bat file to be seen. Did a search of my whole PC in explorer and still no dxt.bat file was found? The ASV Enhanced version runs fine apart from this small problem of not being able to convert to DXT textures.

HI,Re-Install the asv update without the antis virus enabled..when you install the update with the antis virus running, it will block some files during the install.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg

Hi,Actually you shouldn't need to disable AV to install ASV properly. It sounds like a problem during the creation of the dxt.bat file, perhaps related to security settings? Can you share your fs9 path (full) and also the ASV path? Be happy to look into this more.... Please e-mail me direct @ [email protected]. Thanks!

Thanks for the replies. I've sent an email to Damian, so just waiting to see what he says before I try re-installing.

Hi Guys, great program but I seem to have the same problem with dxt conversion. In my case I have the 64, 128, 256, and 512 textures installed. All my textures are active, until I try to convert to dxt textures. When I do I get a message saying having trouble reading textures you can download the 512 textures at etc..... At this point my 512 textures are disabled. When I disable dxt and revert back to mips my 512 textures are ok again. My question is.........can the 512 textures be converted to dxt and if not will there be a set of dxt sets for that resolution. thanx in advance RadioFlyer

Hi Damian,I sent you an email this afternoon..sorry I haven't got back to you earlier. Unfortunately it still seems that I'm having the same problem, even with B363, whereby the dxt.bat file simply doesn't show in the ASV/ActiveEnvironment folder after installing/re-installing the update.
