  1. ...and there was me thinking I was maybe taking things a little seriously :Thinking:nice speech btw :(
  2. Agreed. And it's a very old joke!! :(
  3. When I first went to the NVidia site I just did a seach for '266.35' and only came across the 266.35 Vista/Win 7 drivers... Now I've found the XP 266.35 drivers after doing a search for 'beta drivers'...! Great, I'll get them installed and see what happens. It's given me hope!!
  4. Hi, thanks for the tip. I tried this, but unfortunately it didn't work. Bert: I'm on Win XP, so not able to try those particular drivers, but I have just had a go at upgrading from the 262.99 to the latest 263.09 (for Win XP users) and now the same thing is happening. Just wondering what I should try next. Hmm, maybe it's time I upgraded to Windows 7 so I can try those 266 drivers you suggest.
  5. Hi,Have recently upgraded my grphics card to a GTX 580. Havent had any problems with any other games Ive played since upgrading, but unfortunately FSX is now pretty much unplayable as I'm getting all kinds of strange graphics artifacts when I load up a flight (see screenshots). Sometimes I can actually fly for anything up to 5-10 minutes, but then soon enough the artifacts will start appearing. I've tried rebuilding the FSX cfg and upgrading the graphics card drivers to no avail.Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions on what to do.Any replies would be appreciated.
  6. Hi Mike, thanks for the reply. I've just checked in the BIOS and it wasn't on auto as such, but was actually set at 1.4875V for some reason. I can't understand why it was set that high by default? Seems a bit strange... It just immediately got me worried there was something wrong, as I haven't actually been in the BIOS myself since upgrading the CPU and just kind of presumed it would've already been set at auto?? Anyway, I changed it to 1.3V as you suggested and it now shows as 1.256V in CPU-Z. Hopefully that should be ok.Cheers
  7. I've just recently upgraded to a Q9650 Quad Core CPU, just went to start overclocking it, and have noticed that the core voltage reading in CPU-Z is ridiculously high at 1.44V (see attachment)??? As I stated, I haven't even done any overclocking yet.I'm just wondering why on Earth it's so high, and what I could possibly do to bring it down, as it's quite unnerving to say the least!Any responses would be much appreciated.
  8. Just for the record, this crashed my sim, bringing up an out of memory message. And it made no difference to performance.
  9. I prefer default ATC. I tried Radar Contact, and my one major gripe about it is the ATC communication with AI traffic. For one, there seemed to be a major lack of airline callsigns in the RC vocabulary. Also, the communication between AI aircraft and ATC seemed to be a lot less frequent when using RC. As I have a lot of AI installed, I like to hear them all making contact with ATC when I'm up in the air in FSX. I spend a lot of time adding AI to my sim, and I just couldn't do without that in FSX. If Radar Contact addressed those two issues, then I'd opt for RC hands down, but not until then. Yes, the ATC communication is generally more realistic in RC, but if you only hear AI aircraft making contact with ATC once in every blue moon then that just spoils it IMO.
  10. No, I havent had any problems accessing either! Dont know whether it's some kind of problem at your end?? But no signs of REX 2.0 as yet, sorry to disappoint...lol
  11. I can still access the main website + the forums as of 1925 BST
  12. Thanks, I never thought about simply holding down the ALT key! That's a simple answer to that little problem! :( Say though, if I needed to minimise FSX for some other reason (i.e. I wanted to briefly check out the Internet or some other app during an FSX flight & I wanted to minimise it straight to the task bar from full screen mode). What about minimising it by pressing the Windows Start key? Only I cant maximise FSX again if I try to do this, I click on it on the task bar and it wont come back up? Is there no way to minimise FSX from full screen mode and then maximise it again as such? Im sure I was able to do this with FS9. Howard: Makes me wonder if this is specific to NVidia cards?? I have an 8800GTX card & never had any problem with the screen freezing when accessing menus from the FSX toolbar as such, just problems when minimising from full screen mode.
  13. Does anyone have a remedy for this? It's slowly driving me insane!I fly FSX in full-screen. Whenever I need to select something from the FSX menu toolbar (i.e. by pressing the ALT key, selecting whatever it is I want to select, then going back to my flight), I then have to ALT+ENTER twice over to get back into full-screen. The first time it goes into windowed mode, and then back to full-screen mode.Sometimes however, when I do the second ALT+ENTER, FSX will freeze whilst in windowed mode, and so then I have to restart FSX. This seems to happen with all kinds of different video card drivers I've used so I'm doubtful as to whether it's a driver issue. I mean...what is it with FSX and minimising the screen? Why does it make it either freeze or crash all the goddamn time?! I can't seem to start a flight nowadays until I've spent the best part of an hour messing about having to reload the program about 4 or 5 times over!!! Does anyone else have a similar problem to this? Do you just cope with it or is there some kind of fix I dont know about??Any help would be appreciated.
  14. Would this work if you have FSX + SP1 only at all?? Anyone know?
  15. You don't also happen to have FTX installed by any chance? Just that the same kind of thing happened with me when I flew in the US without turning FTX mode off, i.e. land textures showing instead of the sea.
