Hi,Have recently upgraded my grphics card to a GTX 580. Havent had any problems with any other games Ive played since upgrading, but unfortunately FSX is now pretty much unplayable as I'm getting all kinds of strange graphics artifacts when I load up a flight (see screenshots). Sometimes I can actually fly for anything up to 5-10 minutes, but then soon enough the artifacts will start appearing. I've tried rebuilding the FSX cfg and upgrading the graphics card drivers to no avail.Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions on what to do.Any replies would be appreciated.

Under the [GRAPHICS] section of your FSX.CFG, add:HIGHMEMFIX=1that should fix it.Maybe also add:[bufferPools]RejectThreshold=131072

I made it go away by upgrading to the latest 266.35 beta drivers from the nvidia web-site

Hi, thanks for the tip. I tried this, but unfortunately it didn't work. Bert: I'm on Win XP, so not able to try those particular drivers, but I have just had a go at upgrading from the 262.99 to the latest 263.09 (for Win XP users) and now the same thing is happening. Just wondering what I should try next. Hmm, maybe it's time I upgraded to Windows 7 so I can try those 266 drivers you suggest.

Sounds to me like she's overheating, Nick: I'm running that card without any issue whatsoever. Google for "Furmark" and "OCCT" gpu testing tools, and do some testing on it.

When I first went to the NVidia site I just did a seach for '266.35' and only came across the 266.35 Vista/Win 7 drivers... Now I've found the XP 266.35 drivers after doing a search for 'beta drivers'...! Great, I'll get them installed and see what happens. It's given me hope!!

Hi Paul,Actually let me advise you not to run Kombuster, Furmark or OCCT, or any other benchmark program that gains control over the voltage setting in your equipment. According to both Nvidia and AMD these programs, as well as others that they refer to as "power viruses," will destroy your video card. As a matter of fact nearly all the benchmark testers have ceased using them altogether. In addition, the 580 GTX now has a built in alteration that detects these programs. and throttles back the power.Here is a link that explains it in a bit more detail:No Power Viruses AllowedIn fact because a lot of people do not know this I am going to start a thread on it.Kind regards,

Delete the Shader Cache.
