For those that don't want a pitch black night...

Featured Replies

To all at ActiveSky, would it be too much to ask if you could include an option for those of us that don't care for the pitch black night effect??? I read a fix in another thread (Use the sky set, fixed night; Normal 1) but unless there was a diffident option many would miss this information. A major reason for not tampering with the default night lighting is some add-ons have very limited lighting in the VC which makes it hard to enjoy night flying when everything is pitch black...Thanks... :-)

Before running ASV, I spent a lot of time in my graphic card setup turning down the Gamma, so that it would be dark at night.I found nothing more annoying than flying at night, but being able to see as if it were day.Maybe I have just been eating too many carrotts ;-)I love it dark!

HI Dillon,It was available since the initial release of ASV. With the lastest update, it fix only the 01 Clear Area Night to prevent too much reduced light aircraftground. In Active Environment Interface, in the fixed night sky set:01 Clear Area Night= The sky color is Completly dark, darker clouds ,aircraft and ground normal light.02 Normal 01= The sky color is medium dark, medium clouds light, aircraft and ground normal light.03 City Night= A night sky overs city area which will show more the clouds contrast and a mediumlight sky black color, aircraft and ground normal light.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg

Hi Dillon,Also to prevent any dark sky appearing again in random or ics etc For now you can delete the non desired folder night sky in D:Flight Simulator 9ModulesASVActiveEnvironmentSky ColorFixed NightThere is 3 folder, delete only those you will never use.01 Clear Area Night= The sky color is Completly dark, darker clouds ,aircraft and ground normal light.02 Normal 01= Similar to Default fs2004, The sky color is medium dark, medium clouds light, aircraft and ground normal light.03 City Night= A night sky overs city area which will show more the clouds contrast and a mediumlight sky black color, aircraft and ground normal light.I can ask damian for future update to prevent random night sky in the startup option etc. ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
