January 15, 200620 yr No matter what I do everytime I decend to my destination I am enveloped by fog until I am 6-8miles out from runway. I can stop it if I go up to fsuipc and turn off all whether but I would like to know what is causing this stupid problem. I had this problem before installing Activesky but the program hasnt resolved it either. I have disabled all fog or haze related options in active sky does anyone know where else I can disable any kind of fog?
January 15, 200620 yr Hi,It is correct that you should turn Off weather through FSUIPC and you only do this one time. FSUIPC will remember this option. Are you watching the visibility in AS and seeing if it changes from less than 10 to 10 or more? Are you in Online mode? Can you give me an airport and I can try it out?Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
January 16, 200620 yr Author It doesnt matter what airports bu I fly from KATL to KCSG well FSUIPC doesnt remember because it happens everytime so I hit turn off all weather again each time it happens. Yes I use online mode. How do I watch this 10 to 10 thing?
January 16, 200620 yr Hi,Can you kindly post your ASV.ini file? You could run FS04 in Windowed mode and have them side by side. Thanks!Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg

January 16, 200620 yr Hi,1. Get your FREE update to ASv6.2. Put Online Updates On.3. Uncheck Fog Layer Generation.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannersupporter.jpg
January 16, 200620 yr Commercial Member Hi,There is no indication in this thread that anything is going wrong. You say the visibility is lower on approach to the airport. So what was the closest station during this time, and what VIS was it reporting? Most likely everything is proper, depicting lower vis on your approach path based on the METARS of airports in that vicinity.. then as you near your destination it clears up to the DESTINATION METAR report. If you note any discrepency with METAR/depiction let us know, but I don't think that is what is going on.You might want to use the Force destination wx zone feature. This must be enabled BEFORE your flight (before you takeoff from your departure) and a flight plan MUST be loaded. This way your destination wx will be cloned to all airports within 80nm of the dest. There can/will be variations but the basic METAR parameters including cloud ceilings based on station elevation, visibility, wind, etc. will match dest.Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
January 17, 200620 yr Author Id say that 2oclock in the afternoon in georgia 75degrees outside sun shinning no clouds in the sky to have any kind of fog is a major problem.
January 17, 200620 yr If the METAR station reports fog, no matter if that's a correct or incorrect report, you're gonna get fog in the sim til the cows come home, unless you edit/delete that METAR station entry, or do some sort of overriding. January 17, 200620 yr Commercial Member Hi,Yes it must be a station reporting lower vis. Watching the ASv6 main screen will easily show which station is reporting the lower vis. There is a possibility a station has closed and old/stale data is being sent?If the station name in question can be identified please let me know and I'll investigate...Thanks!
