June 10, 200718 yr Hi Jim and TeamThanks for the new products weather/graphics for FSX, as usual they make for a great realistic experience. I see that UT for FSX has been released, so a couple of questions: Will we see any significant difference over X Graphics? I've had a look at Hollister (one of their featured towns in the demo) and FSX with X graphics depicts it quite well. Is FSX UT USA compatible with the "bundle" particularly X Graphics?ThanksPeter Hayes
June 10, 200718 yr Commercial Member HI Peter, Ultimate Terrain X not really related to x graphics, Ultimate Terrain X USA replace terrain feature, x graphics replace others things mostly outside Ultimate Terrain X, yes compatible with Ultimate Terrain X. June 10, 200718 yr Looking at the specific features of UTX and XGraphics, there are a couple areas of overlap. For example, they both do some modifications to roads/railroads and water. Obviously there are no prohibitive conflicts but can someone shed some light on how they mix? Another example, XGraphics adds some water textures and color while UTX adds some colors. Will UTX colors be presented with XGraphics textures? Which water color will override the other, or what are the recommended settings to get the best effect (matter of opinion, I guess)?I guess I should quit reading these forums and just try them out myself. :-)
June 11, 200718 yr Author Chris,Thanks. My next question will be in a similar vein about the the new FE for FSX?Peter Hayes:)
June 13, 200718 yr I am using both UTX and X Graphics. No problems. From what I understand, UTX will overrule X Graphics where they overlap (eg water) after a default install. The UTX files appear at the top of the scenery library. At the moment, I prefer the UTX water files, so I created a custom X Graphics theme with the water settings at default FSX. It might not matter. I haven't really evaluated it, but it works fine.Craigjjs
June 13, 200718 yr Commercial Member Hi,Ultimate terrain x use don't have water texture, they use landclass on ground ( they place whatever texture is in fsx installed to a different way), you still need texture to see water in fsx, even their texture are used only with their own bgl, it remove default road etc and add their own road etc.ThanksChris Willishttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-dev-sigbanner.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis
