April 5, 200818 yr At KSPS on 0700Z on 04 April the weather that was in ASX and the metar was not reflected in FSX. The weather in the ATIS (not 122.00) was omitting the cloud cover and the rain. As soon as I stopped ASX, the overcast appeared and the rain started. The METAR from FSX and ASX weather seemed to be out of sink.I am running FSX SP1 and ASX SP3 with all items set to default. I eneter FSX through ASX.Bill I Earned My Spurs in Vietnam
April 5, 200818 yr Hi BillThere are a few of us getting this problem from various posts on this forum and also on other Flight Sim Forums. The summary seems to be that Simconnect is setup and working fine with the relevant messages from ASX being displayed within FSX but that the weather is not updated.I wonder whether it is a particular software compatability problem and wonder whether everyone experiencing this problem should post their configuration to see if there are any patterns.I have :-ServerFS-X with Acceleration Windows Vista 64 Bit with SP1Registered version of FSUPIC (4.26)WideclientThe client is a Windows XP Pro machineRegardsLufty
April 5, 200818 yr Hi Bill,Does ASX recognize your current position in FSX?Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
April 5, 200818 yr Author Jim,ASX recognizes my current position in FSX. The ASX map was showing the rain and overcast conditions. Those conditions did not transfer to FSX. As stated above, when I turned ASX off, the rain and overcast appeared. I am running E6600 with ASUS motherboard and ASUS 8800 GTS video card. I have Vista-32 with SP1. ASX is SP3 set to default. FSX is SP1 only. Bill I Earned My Spurs in Vietnam
April 6, 200818 yr Hi,Try a uninstall/reinstall of SP1.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
April 6, 200818 yr Hi BillI tried an uninstall and then reinstall of ASX and also removing FSX SP2 and tried it with FSX SP1 and FSX SP2 and then FSX Acceleration without any luck. The two things I have not tried yet is a complete reinstall of FSX and also removing Windows Vista SP1.It is interesting that Windows Vista SP1 has also caused problems with some users (me included) with FSUIPC to do with the settings in the FSX.XML file but this could be a coincidence ?Let me know how you get on as I would love to solve this problem myself.RegardsLufty
April 7, 200818 yr Author Jim,One of the things I am noticing is the difference between the ATIS on 122.00 (ASX) and the ATIS for the airport. The 122.00 weather will be close to the reported Metar for the airport, but the ATIS for the airport will have the correct winds and alitmeter but will not have the cloud coverage or precip.Bill I Earned My Spurs in Vietnam
April 7, 200818 yr Hi Bill,Are any of the cloud layers being spoken? Also, please make a note of what precip symbol is in the METAR when this happens.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/

April 8, 200818 yr Hi Bill,Let me see if I get this right:1. The ASX Voice was 100% correct.2. The FSX Voice was wrong for sky conditions.3. FSX started using the correct METAR time and then was 100% correct.Do you see these the same as I did?Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/

April 18, 200818 yr Author This is the weather that was at KDAL today. The FSX is from the KDAL ATIS in FSX. The ASX is from the ASX Voice on 122.00. April 18, 200818 yr Hi,This is a non-standard code:R13L/5500VP6000FTIt may have caused the end of the METAR not to be recognized. We try to filter out as much non standard data that comes through, but we still don't catch everything.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
