ASX weather not showing up

Jim,I flew from KFYV-KTUL-KOKC-KLAW-KSPS-KDAL today. The weather along the route via METARS and Radar was IMC with heavy rain and thunderstorms. Not one time in the 3.5 hour flight was it OVC and Raining. I landed at KDAL (1835Z) and the weather reported on ATIS and on the screen was CLR while the METAR showed RA and OVC. This is the same problem that continues to appear in ASX and can not seem to be repaired. I found a solution. I turned ASX off and the rain and overcast appeared. It appears that if I want accurate weather I am going to have to do it without ASX until it is fixed. My apologies for taking up your time. Bill

Hi Bill,Let's back up and start troubleshooting. Right now you are the only one reporting this so let's see what we can do.First, restet ASX to default settings. If you have FSUIPC 4 installed, click on Default settings and Weather settings Off.What ASX Build number?Does ASX recognize your current location?Something is blocking our data in your FSX.Please let us know,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/

Hi JimWith respect I have posted about a very similar problem with the weather not displaying in FSX. 1. Simconnect works perfectly2. ASX knows the aircraft location including when the aircraft is moved from the initial position3. ASX injects messages which are displayed within FSX.Running ASX on the FSX machine works perfectly with the weather updating correctly.I have tried everything you have suggested and more without any luck at all.I have tried it with ASX SP2 and also ASX SP3 Beta.I have removed the obvious like UAC, Antivirus, Firewall etc. without any luck.My FSX machine is running Windows Vista 64 bit with SP1.I have tried FSX SP1, SP2 and Acceleration with similar results.Kind regardsLufty

Hello folks,I would be happy to look into this issue further. There is mention of several other people and threads concerning this. Can anyone share some links? We have NOT received any official support requests concerning this, other than here on the AVSIM support forum. We also have not received any bug reports for this so I assume nobody experiencing this problem is using our later versions? I would recommend that users experiencing this problem please install our latest update, SP3 B1160 (which is now in release candidate stage). If problems persist:1) If using FSUIPC, ensure that your FSUIPC weather-related options are not conflicting. A basic new FSUIPC install or default "wx settings off" type of configuration is preferred.2) If using any other weather-enabled add-on (such as ATC network clients), make sure wx modification in such add-ons are disabled as conflicts can cause such problems.3) Certain saved wx conditions/themes can cause problems with weather depiction. You can reset things by loading the "clear wx" theme in FS and then restarting ASX.4) If you have manually changed your wx mode to anything other than "user defined" this can cause problems. Make sure it remains user-defined once ASX is loaded. If this does not solve these issues, please do send a bug report as instructed in the beta thread (sticky at top of this forum) including reproduction details and we will make this a priority to address. As of right now we are unable to duplicate such behavior with our latest builds. Thanks!

Hi Bill,Please excuse Jim on this, he is misinformed. We indeed do read RVR data and it will be used for the visibility value of a METAR if a standard visibility element is not found. This does not appear to be the problem here.Best,
