June 29, 200817 yr Hi all,I made an atlantic crossing last night. CYYT to EICK in DA's Fokker 100.I checked the METAR and saw that a nice jetstream was crossing directly on route, straight across the atlantic. This indeed showed up as winds 279@79ish at 35k in the ASX briefing page. Yahooo, this all works just like it should! (sorry I didn't get a snap)Note my surprise then as I reached 35k that I had dead calm, not a breath, all the way over to EICK?I was using real time, so I expected something at least. Can anyone throw some light on this? Here's a snap I took of todays METAR over the same flightplan. Again, showing jetstream winds, confirmed on http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/jetstream.aspSee also attachment. And my ASX briefing page for the same.
June 29, 200817 yr Yes, I have still the same problem.Look my post here: http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ing_type=searchI get only weather from stations on land!It is ASX and still the same as in ASwxRE. Regards, Christoph Reppel (FSX, Win7 64-bit, I7)
June 29, 200817 yr Does sound like the same problem I encountered. Last update was in Canada, the next in Ireland. I have create virtual stations turned on for just this very reason. I have max cloud layers set to 4, to help frame rates. All the other setting are default.
June 29, 200817 yr Hi monk,Sorry for the problem. Can you show us some shots of ASX and FSX when you are getting zero winds? In ASX, the main screen and the report screen. In FSX, a shot with the winds readout turned on.Edit: One more thing: Can you try with Enhanced Route Coverage On?Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
July 3, 200817 yr Commercial Member For proper oceanic coverage, you'll want to make sure create virtual stations is enabled, and enhance route coverage can also help.Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
July 5, 200817 yr Have you tried? I tried with and without virtual station, but the effect was the same. Weather from Ireland and next Canada. Regards, Christoph Reppel (FSX, Win7 64-bit, I7)
July 6, 200817 yr >Have you tried? I tried with and without virtual station, but>the effect was the same. Weather from Ireland and next>Canada.Same thing here, going the other way. Last waether was in Canada, the next was in Ireland; nothing in between. I had all the ticks in the right places on the setup screen.
