November 1, 200817 yr I have just aquired this addon and find that, having installed the default textures, I no longer have any taxi lights (blue or green). Worse, I can't restore them. Is there a fix? I am running FSX on a network with ASX and X Graphics on a secondary box. Both addons are otherwise working well. My OS for FSX is Vista 32 bit and for the addons is XP. Peter.
November 1, 200817 yr Hi Peter,Sorry for the problem. In your attempt to restore, did you use the Restore Backup button in X Graphics? Please let us know.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
November 2, 200817 yr Author Yes Jim, I tried the restore button more than once. I thougth I had also lost the landing lights and the button restored those. I then read the note on addon aircraft and used the recommended testure. They work fine. But the taxi ways remain dark. I have tried different themes as well as the default to no avail. It is strange because everything else appears to be working just as it should. Peter.
November 2, 200817 yr Hi,In your FSX/Texture folder see if you have halo.bmp file.Thanks,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-community-sigbanner.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/
November 3, 200817 yr Author Yes Jim, the halo file is there. I have gone ahead and "removed" FSX (without manually deleting the file folders) and reinstalled it along with both service packages. I still have no blue or green lights (except for just the green lights at the one commercial airport I have installed: DreamFleet KORD). Peter.
November 3, 200817 yr Commercial Member HI Peter,The problem is for all fsx airports or just addons airports? You can increase the size for airports light in fsx.config. Add these line under display in fsx.cfg., number will tell you how much you want them big or smaller, default are 1.0[Display]RUNWAY_LIGHTS_SURFACE_SCALAR=1.0 //scales edge, center,end,touchdown,runwaysRUNWAY_LIGHTS_VASI_SCALAR=1.0 //scales VASI/PAPI lightsRUNWAY_LIGHTS_APPROACH_SCALAR=1.0 //scales approach light barsRUNWAY_LIGHTS_STROBE_SCALAR=1.0 //scales RAILs and ODALsThanksChris Willishttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-dev-sigbanner.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis
November 3, 200817 yr Author I think we may be getting a bit off the track. The problem is with all the airports. Until I installed the XGraphics default theme all runway and taxi lights were clearly visible. I tried different themes with the same result: no blue or green lights. I then tried to restore the textures using the XGraphics button. That did not restore the lights. I then removed and reinstalled FSX with service packs, but I still have no taxi lights. I will look at the light sizing, but I do not see what difference that could be making now. Peter.
November 6, 200817 yr Commercial Member HI Peter,The best way to test, is to go to KLGA, I have tested one by one and all Xgraphics lights do appears. If they don't appears on others airports, default fsx will not appears too. Many airports do not use taxi light in fsx. tested with fsx SP2.ThanksChris Willishttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/banners/hifi-dev-sigbanner.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis

November 9, 200817 yr Author Thank you Chris;that did it. I set my scenery complexity to sparce following suggestions for Nvidia cards I found on the Net. I must have done so about the same time I installed XGraphics. I now have it set to normal and all the lights are there. Peter.
