July 13, 200520 yr How long does it usually take for the R4D CD to show up if it is shipped within the continental US? I am asking beacuse I ordered the R4D from PC aviator 8 days ago and they still show it as backordered (despite their claim that backorders only take 1 or 2 days to get in stock). I am considering cancelling my order from them and just getting it straight from MAAM if it would be any faster.thanks,David S
July 14, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi David,We have no control or knowledge of the shipping arrangements of the various vendors of the Vmax produced boxed version of the R4D. We would very much appreciate direct orders from MAAM as that way the museum gets all the money instead of just a small royalty. Our in-house CD's also include the most recent fixes and additions, which the boxed version does not. For instance, the direct MAAM-SIM produced CD includes the XC-47 and the D-Day C-47 package. The MAAM CD is in its 7th Edition, while the Vmax version is still the original, unchanged and unexpanded. MAAM can certainly beat this sort of delivery time on a domestic shipment, too. I produce the MAAM CDs myself and they will never run out of stock as Brenda keeps me advised when we are getting low and a new burn is needed. We have learned our lesson the hard way about outside produced boxed versions and there will be no more of them in the future. Please cancel and if you hurry I'll process your order tonight. It will ship no later than Friday.Bill RambowMAAM-SIM http://www.fssupport.com/maam/maamsim_neon.gif Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM www.maam.org
July 14, 200520 yr Bill,Thanks for the reply. I had no idea that you guys were just getting a pittance of the purchase price, and I am more than a little PO'ed at PC aviator for A: not showing that they didn't have the product in stock, and B: waiting 8 days to tell me it is back ordered. I don't think I can cancel the order tonight, but first thing tomorrow, you got yourselves another R4D order.

August 6, 200520 yr Commercial Member I should think it will arrive any day. It's all in the hands of the postal systems and Customs, now. August 9, 200520 yr HelloI have also a small question. How long for a sending in Switzerland and how much that costs?Thank you
August 9, 200520 yr Commercial Member There is really no way for us to predict shipping times to anywhere. Our CD's are shipped Air Mail and of course are handled by both our postal system and that of the receiving country. Then of course there's the nasty old Customs people to get in the middle on overseas shipments. (I am a retired Customs officer of 34 years, so I'm just kidding about them being nasty.) About all you can do is try to get some answers from fellow Swiss customers as to what their experience was.So, can any Swiss, or other nearby European MAAM-Simmers out there give us a clue? All in all I have to say that we get very few complaints about shipping times, so I believe it is quite reasonable. As for the cost - that's easy. It's the same for any destination in the world. It is $4.95 for a single disc or the same for the two disc B-25 'Briefing Time' Combo Pack - That's the B-25 flightsim CD and the B-25 Multi-Media CD. Otherwise, two or three CD's ship for $7.95.Please order directly from the museum at http://www.avialantic.com/shop/entrypage.htmlBill RambowMAAM-SIM http://www.fssupport.com/maam/maamsim_neon.gif Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM www.maam.org

August 11, 200520 yr Just for comparison, whenever I've ordered anything from MAAM I've had it delivered within a couple of weeks, which seems fine for an International shipment to the UK. Frequently its a lot quicker, but it all depends on the respective Postal Services and the UK Customs.Cheers,Alastair
