March 30, 200818 yr Is there any way I can eliminate the switching of fuel tanksSo the craft at all time draws fuel from all tanksThanks,
April 2, 200818 yr There was a glitch in FS2002 that allowed you to not worry about the fuel selectors, not sure if it applies to FS9 though. Maybe Bill or someone could confirm ?From the manual ...> FS2002, on the other hand, would not accept this work-around. Fuel > will always be fed from both Aux tanks first, then both Mains, > regardless of how the selectors are set. If you set the selectors to > Main, the Aux tank will empty and then the Main will feed > automatically. However, if you select the Aux tanks, they will empty > and the engines will stop when they are dry.CheersGary Gary Lowndes
April 3, 200818 yr Commercial Member This glitch was not carried over to FS9. But I'm curious - why would you not want to have the realistic fuel system?Bill RambowMAAM-SIM http://www.fssupport.com/maam/hgrsm_blkani.gif Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM www.maam.org
April 3, 200818 yr So we can point the plane at some far off place then come back several hours later. I've often wondered about it myself - the '3 has the endurance to fly well over a thousand miles, but I don't have the endurance to sit here while it does it. Part of the magic of flying these lovely old birds is being able to say with a feeling of awe "My goodness, that three hour flight to Brisbane on Air NZ we did last month took 11 hours in the '3 !!!" and it doesn't matter whether I was sitting here or sleeping or at work, 11 hours is 11 hours is 11 hours and gives a very real sense of how long it used to take to fly from A to B.Or, in the case of this loveliest of the lovely old birds, from A to the point at which the fuel tanks you've selected run dry.;-) Gary Gary Lowndes
