June 9, 200817 yr No fancy anims like that on the ol' BT, Willem. Not that difficult to add but it's still very much Turkey time at the Maam-Sim hangar, besides the fact that there's actually a LOT to upgrade on the B-25 model, isn't there. We really need to keep that for FSX/FSXI so you'll have to use the "/" to simulate hydraulic pressure loss still for some time to come. We *do* have a LOT of fancy anims on our new Avenger model and it sure is a great flyer too ! :-cool Groeten,Jan Jan
June 9, 200817 yr HalloI have a question about the B25J bomb bay doors.Looking at the instruction video,s i see that the bomb bay doors are open when the engine,s are stoped (no hydraulic pressure avail anymore). But at the Sim version doors are closed when the engine,s are stoped. Is it possible to change this easy or is this change to big, or is there perhaps some fix for it.I know that i can use the "/" key but! it is a very nice airplane to fly with.:-)rgds Willem.
June 10, 200817 yr Commercial Member There's actually a much different answer to why the bomb bay doors are opened on BT when the engines are shut down. It's not because there is not hydraulic pressure - it is because Russ Strine opens them! You see, we have six real (inert, of course) 500 pound steel bombs, found abandoned in a Pennsylvania steel mill, hanging in 'Briefing Time's' bomb bay. Fiberglass replicas are found in most restored bombers, if they have working bomb bays, that is. We like to show them off to museum visitors and airshow attendees, so it's SOP to open the doors when we shut her down!Bill RambowMAAM-SIM http://www.fssupport.com/maam/hgrsm_blkani.gif Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM www.maam.org
June 10, 200817 yr Ha, I always wondered why BT was the only B-25 that I've always seen air show pictures of with an open bomb bay! Heck of a find.If you read through the pilot's manual carefully enough, I'm pretty sure it mentions the bay doors are latched closed. Which is unlike the P-51 main gear doors that are held up only by hydraulic pressure, to allow for easier emergency gear extension, I presume.
June 10, 200817 yr Hallo Mr Bill,Thanks for the info i did,t know that, but what are/is "Russ Strine" is that a type of lock to keep the doors closed or the bomb,s in side the fuselage. rgds Willem.
June 10, 200817 yr Mr Bill,Sorry Sorry !!! I was thinking and reading to technical/mechanical ect, ect. It is Mr Russ Strine (Pilot)who opens the doors i was really thinking about a locking devices or what else.Sorry my reading fault.rgds Willem.:+
June 11, 200817 yr Commercial Member :-)Yes, Russ Strine is the Museum President and Chief Pilot - the lucky man who flies 'Briefing Time' and the TBM - and anything else he wants! He's the big guy you'll see in all the instructional videos telling you how things are done in the real BT, which of course you can also do in our version. If you have not seen the videos, you are in for a treat. They are included on the CD, but can also be streamed or downloaded individually from our Free Stuff Pages.Bill RambowMAAM-SIM http://www.fssupport.com/maam/hgrsm_blkani.gif Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM www.maam.org
June 11, 200817 yr Hallo Mr Bill,Yes i have seen the video,s from the BT25 and RD4/DC3 because have both CD,s.And yes indeed his a lucky men to fly historic airplanes. If the blackwidow is ready to fly is hy also going to fly this airplane?rgds Willem.
June 11, 200817 yr Commercial Member When the Widow flies, it will take a large chunk of dynamite to get Russ out of the cockpit!Bill RambowMAAM-SIM http://www.fssupport.com/maam/hgrsm_blkani.gif Bill Rambow MAAM-SIM www.maam.org
June 12, 200817 yr Hallo Mr Bill,I will believe that.Is there already flying one in the USA or is this the first one to fly in the USA.Perhaps also a simulator version of the blackwidow?
